I hope they do an actual tour, I will go see them! Definitely not gonna go to a festival for them, though.
The only time I saw them live was opening for The Black Keys at Merriweather Post Pavilion several years ago, and it was before I really liked them so I wasn't paying much attention. Last time they were in LA, I found out too late and that show was very sold out.
Same! They opened for The Black Keys here and at that point, Black Keys were getting stale af so I didn't bother going for AM alone. Kinda wish I did - love that album.
Omg, we fucked up so badly with that show! I went with friends, and none of us had any clue how much The Black Keys had blown up or how popular the AM were for an opener, so we get there an hour early and have to wait ten years to park. Once we finally enter the venue, the seating is GA on the lawn and it is PACKED FULL halfway through the AM set. So we awkwardly wedge ourselves between some people already seated, and can't even see the stage, just the video monitor of the stage. Mess!
That's the trouble with getting that perfect show! It's an amazing experience, of course, but then you know in the back of your head that the next one will be a letdown no matter what. I sat front row for one of my faves in May, and I know no other show of his will compare to that, and that's just something I have to live with now.
Literally any experience seeing the AM will be better than my last one, so I am in a great position for them, lol.
