i've honestly loved it so much until the last two (and i'm also pretending certain someone's are not actually dead) (and i've also been skipping all the hitler/eugene/hell scenes) (and i hate jessie this season)....
i think it is better than the first one. the pace is faster and it seems to have more layers... idk im enjoying it so far, ofc not all episodes can be great but eh so far so good
I didn't see Monday's episode yet because this season has been so terrible, I've lost interest. Between hell, Hitler and this season just being plain boring with not much actually happening, I'm just not that interested.
I don't watch that show, but Turn with no ratings on Saturdays managed to last 4 seasons, so who knows. I really want this season of Preacher to be over already, dunno if I'll even tune in to next season, if there is one.
I don't watch either of them or know anyone who does but somehow they're still on. idek how preacher does in the ratings. same, I'm basically hate watching it or being stubborn idk lol
They started the season at 0.6 and now they're at 0.3, it definitely is lower than last season (mostly 0.5-0.6 area), but it's also on Mondays now instead of Sundays, so that also played a part in it.
Oh that's disheartening to hear, I wanted to start watching this show soon :( Someone recced it to me pretty hard but idk if I trust their taste completely. Would you say it's worth getting into the show for a decent first season or something or should I spend my time more wisely?
Good question. S1 also had their slow parts, where it felt like nothing was moving because they insisted on staying in the small town. But I loved the characters and the insanity of the show, which really is a matter of taste and where I know the show isn't for everyone. I found the insanity hilarious last season, but this season I find it in poor taste and annoying. I'd check out the first two episodes and see how you deal with it, they're pretty indicative of the level of insanity of the rest of the season.
Hm okay thanks! Yeah the stuff that I heard about S2 ("Herr Starr", a character chilling with Hitler in hell...) really turned me off but I felt like I ought to give the show a chance for this friend who keeps championing it. Idk right now I'm leaning towards not starting it after all.
The Hitler thing is a huge turn off, when he first showed up Herr Starr was one of the few bright spot of this season, but some stuff happened last week's episode that turned me off there as well, even the characters I love like Tulip and Cassidy are stuck in that apartment doing very little. I never thought I'd miss the small town setting and prefer it to New Orleans, but that's where I am.
S1 could be insane and outrageous, but it wasn't boring and even though in some ways it toed the line with offensive (which I knew the comics completely bulldozed over that line), it didn't bother me like it does in S2.
So currently, I think maybe you shouldn't start it, but if you want to appease your friend, try an episode or two and it should give you an indication of S1.
