blah, i'm over her. she doesn't do much plotwise, her personality is a little grating, and her fandom is starting to wear on me a little. i do like that she has way more to do, but what she's doing isn't quite enough. i'm ready for her to REALLY part ways with shadow like they do in the book and find her own march. and it pains me to say it since i realllllyy love emily browning but she's not THAT compelling and (currently) essential to the plot.
i'm kinda hoping that they wind up pairing her with lucky charms. i'm thinking mb his flashback and their usage of emily was an actual reincarnation type thing or...something lol.

I read the book like 2 years ago and I don't remember much of it but I do remember how important she was for Shadow's journey. She's enjoyable to watch, I'm tired of that type of character being portrayed by men and everybody getting crazy about them. She has a purpose and is well written, that's fine by me.

i have not seen any laura moon love anywhere. tumblr hates her for woke reasons, reddit hates her for misogynist reasons, both hate her because she cheated and shes kind of mean. but funily enough everyone loves sweeney, though hes a murderer and a huge asshole. lauras few vocal fans are people who are happy we have a female character who is unlikable, abrasive and selfish, we don't see that often. i never even look in the tumblr tag anymore because its all "laura moon should die fans of hers are white feminists who are racist".

ya'll are living really different fandom lives because before laura got introduced, so many ww complained that the show wasn't great and wasn't relatable and then as soon as laura showed up, the tune changed and the thinkpieces flew.
i mean, laura really is my favorite character, that doesn't mean she's the only character worth watching for. i love ricky as shadow but you can't deny that shadow just isn't...much of a character but thats just a consequence of the books. shadow is just there, he doesn't do much and they've made it better in the show and i hope they continue to improve cuz ricky is a great actor who could do more if they gave him more. you can't deny that apart from bilquis's two scenes (one of which she has no dialogue) she show has no female characters
