I'm not gonna read the buzz feed article cause I don't wanna be spoiled. I love true crime documentary so please feel free to recommend some.

I can't check bc it's not available in my area, but if it's the same film, Newtown is also on Netflix

I felt a little... eh about it. I appreciate that they didn't spend some on the shooter at all, and focused on the families, but I also felt like there wasn't a whole lot to it. The whole gun lobby thing was infuriating as it always is. I guess I just didn't find it very fleshed out.

I saw Newtown screen at a film festival last year and one of the fathers was there with the director and editor. It was intense.

The Cheshire Murders was a great documentary but, so hard for me to get through. That was one of those crimes that truly disturbed me on such a deep level. Home Invasion is one of my worst nightmares and what those monsters did makes me absolutely sick to my stomach. It also makes me so angry at how close they were to safety but, the cops just took their sweet time outside.

There's Something Wrong With Aunt Diane was INFURIATING because there were just questions and zero answers when it was over. So sad.

this pissed me off so much too. especially since we know she was very drunk and high when she crashed.

The Imposter is so weird it feels fake, but it appears to be true so I'd recommend that (Netflix)

Who Took Johnny is a good one. I also really like the trilogy of the West Memphis 3 (that's on HBO).

Seconding There's Something Wrong with Aunt Diane, The Jinx, The Cheshire Murders, OJ: Made in America (it is incredible!), and also Making a Murderer if you haven't already seen it.

Not true crime but if you just enjoy documentaries/crying your eyes out How to Die in Oregon is sooooooo good. Literally heart-wrenching.

Def O.J. Made in America. I have two parts left but it's really thorough and interesting, very well done. Part one was a bit boring to me bc of the football angle (as idk anything about American football) but the next two parts are great.
