Shakira keeps succeeding without leaving her house. Her hit Chantaje reached 600M views on Youtube just a couple of days ago, and Shakira's team celebrated the song's popularity by releasing a salsa version with a video featuring more dancing scenes between Shakira and a Colombian reggaetonero that also sings in the track.

Puro, puro chantaje )

Shakira doesn't release terrible songs. She's not Thalia.

It was such a letdown to have it follow Summer Anthem La Bicicleta.

But ngl, Chantaje grew on me even though I still think Maluma is the basic-est of reggaeton.

Sis has reggaeton even been good since 2007?

Residente is good imo, one of the few reggaeton artist that matter.

Edit: forgot to add, lol, the guy is no perfect and I don't like how he glorifies the latin-american left but at least he speaks about things that fucking matter and has called out right wing latin-american politicians and doesn't like gringos, so yeah, at least he is not singing about how a slut a woman is and how much he wants to fuck them.

I wish René didn't think he is above reggaeton now that he discovered his true calling or whatever, because his first two Calle 13 albums are some of the dirtiest, most delicous perreo I've ever heard. He knows how to make reggaeton sound fresh.

That's not to say I don't like his new stuff though, because I LOVED Latinoamérica and C13's album Multi-Viral is an eargasm from start to finish. I just wish he didn't take himself as seriously, because I love his Gordita-style shit. Suava will always be my C13 jam, no matter how nasty it is.
