idk if he's currently religious but steven yeun grew up attending a korean-american church.
tbh i'm wary of korean celebs who id as christian bc korean christianity isn't known for being the most progressive. i know arden cho is religious and so is dami im. the latter worked as a gospel singer in south korea.
in america at least, a lot of korean-americans join churches just for the social aspect bc it's a good way to connect with fellow korean immigrants. so i guess it doesn't really mean anything... but when they constantly mention it, idk.
How can moonie marriages even work? They love to pair people up who don't even speak the same language. I know they say their success rate is over 85% or something, but still - they don't speak the same language! From what I can tell, Koreans get paired with Koreans, but for everyone else all bets are off. Here's a quote I found:
"“I’ve been waiting for him all my life,” a bride from Trinidad and Tobago told AFP when asked about her Polish husband. “Language isn’t such an issue. We’re connected by the church.”"
iirc this was never confirmed, I think. he's religious, but there was a debate if the church he attends is part of the unification church, but I might be wrong/not updated. lol
