Surprised it made it past 13 episodes, tbh. And I say this as someone who watches this mess.

“How many teenage girls do you know who are obsessed with history - I wasn’t at that age,” Adelaide interrupted again, when one TV critic noted that the series story, while fascinating, was not Mary’s fascinating story

Oddly enough, Elizabethan England was exactly what I was obsessed with as a teenager

Me too. Elizabeth I was my role model when I was growing up, but I was the weird kid.

...

When I was a kid, and Discovery Zone was a thing, I pretended all the winding tunnels and ball pits were part of a giant tomb (and my parents neither one were Indiana Jones fans, so I have no idea where this came from.) My 2nd grade Scholastic book order was a set on ancient Egypt that included an ankh necklace, a piece of papyrus, and a little plastic sarcophagus. When the Smithsonian did a touring exhibit that my school visited for a field trip (I was maybe 8?,) I geeked out over the Rosetta Stone, and my distracted mother (there as a chaperone) only cared about Dorothy's ruby slippers. My mother, who told me that video games were "only for boys," allowed me to play video games only because Lara Croft, another girl who liked history, existed.

my favourite book as a kid was this Egyptology book my mum got me! I loved it so much I had it right up until 2 years ago.

Now I'm a history teacher.

she also had this exchange that made me rme:

When castmate Megan Follows was asked to describe her Queen Catherine role, Adelaide interrupted her thoughtful answer to note, “She’s such a bitch!” which stopped Follows cold.

“I don’t think she’s a bitch,” Follows disagreed.

“I mean to me!” said Adelaide, as if that was all that really mattered.

i think she's matured a bit since then though. (idk. i don't actually follow her. but i attended the reign panel at SDCC a couple years ago and she didn't seem quite as daft.)

How far she's come. I remember her during her Power Rangers days begging fanboys to fund her going to Comic Con. *Sniff*

I think in the very first Reign post on ONTD a journalist flat out called her difficult, lol. I do hope she's become more professional on set, as I've grown fond of her despite myself.

i attended the reign panel at SDCC

Heck, I like the show and I'm stunned they managed to get a panel!

lmao i think that was the same article that i'm quoting in the above comment! "as if that was all that really mattered"... you can definitely tell the journalist was fed up.

at least the panel wasn't in Hall H...
