I think it's 3 > 1 > 2, personally.

It's 2 > 3 > 1 for me. But I read the first book, which was rough to get through, and listened to the second two and the narrator is AMAZING.

omg I love the audiobooks. They definitely increased my love of the series. <3 (I love how he kind of softens Robin's Oop North accent as they go on, heh.)

I definitely think 1>2>3 but it's because they got progressively gory. I still enjoyed reading them but I got pretty squeamish with 3 especially.

i thought the second book was really gory. the scenes from the book-within-the-book were really off-putting.

I think they get better with each one. I loved the third one. Could hardly put it down.

the third one is the best so far.

Personally I thought Cuckoo's Calling and Career of Evil were equally engrossing and The Silkworm slightly less so. I really loved them all though!

nah the first one was terrible--if it wasn't jkr i don't think it'd ever have gotten published. completely cliched and predictable. the second one was much better and the third one was incredible. i can't wait for the fourth one!
