Guerrero has been cast to star in a new CBS drama called 'In the Country We Love', a show based on her memoir about her life as the daughter of undocumented immigrants, who had to grow up too fast when they were abruptly deported.
Her parents came to the US on temporary visas and stayed when they expired, they only got caught after trying to obtain citizenship. She came home from school one day and her parents were gone, she was left alone, raised with the help of friends, the government never checked in on her.
The show will tell the story of a successful corporate attorney who takes on pro bono cases for undocumented immigrants.
