J.K. Rowling attended the gala world premiere performances of 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' on Saturday, and posed with the cast and crew of the plays. She also got a really nifty King's Cross birthday cake at midnight during the after party. Loads of photos here.

Judging by what I imagined while reading the books, I think adult Ron is really well cast lmao

And they couldn't even be bothered to give the actor a red wig.

i started reading the script earlier today (not very far in, maybe like a quarter of the way) and i legit could not with how much i felt like the movies influenced the characterizations of the returning characters, especially ron. i couldn't figure out if it made me more mad or sad the kind of lines he was given

Yup. Truly sad, Ron is a great character. It feels all tainted now :(

yeah that REALLY bothered me tbh

[spoilers]the only redeeming part was when he insisted on watching with harry as lily and james were killed in 1981 so he wouldn't have to do it alone. when he made some joke about everyone else going up to stand next to hermione and harry when they were talking about taking responsibility for their kids' actions, i was like 'um... as if ron wouldn't be the FIRST person to jump to harry's defence/side. AS. IF.'

Ron's lines were absolutely the worst part about the play to me tbh

Wow, you just sealed it for me. I am so NOT buying this.

I hated the way they made all the characters 2-dimensional and stupid in the movies, and I guess it's going to be the same kind of aimed-at-children humour with the play then.
