But Producers Still Don't Know What They Will Do with the Character
JJ Abrams plainly addressed the issue when asked in an interview. “I would say there’s no replacing him. There’s no recasting. I can’t possibly imagine that, and I think Anton deserves better.” Abrams admitted they’ve considered the possibility of killing off the character. “I have thought about it, we’re working on it, and it’s too early to talk about it,” he said.
This newest film is dedicated to both Nimoy and Yelchin in the credits.
