Yup. But we live in a world where the very worst thing you can be is poor. Poverty is so badly stigmatized that you Have people like Blonsky and this dude out here pretending to work minimum wage "for fun." This world is so fucked up LOL.
Yeah, it's just rude and it's not like they're even celebrities anymore. It also reminds me of when people took pictures of Beans from Even Stevens working at the mall.
tbh actors make less money than ppl think they do if you're not a megastar like jlaw w/tons of fashion contracts/brand deals. especially in cases like nikki blonsky where iirc she only had like 2 movie roles? that money had to run out some day. i remember miles teller talking about how he made less than $10,000 each for rabbit hole and whiplash and hilary swank (i think) once discussed how she was on a red carpet wearing a couture gown but only had about $200 in her bank account.
IA. They probably make more than the average salary but I wouldn't put them ahead of legit lawyers. They're able to live their lifestyle because they get everything for free or rent them for events.
Miles said that during the filming of Whiplash he only got paid something like $10,000 for the entire movie (because it was an independent film prior to being released by Sony) and still had student loan debt. He'd been acting for years at this point and still didn't make that much money. Plus, actors have to pay their agent fees too, so their take home pay is probably very little once a role is completed.
Yep, there's a documentary called "That Girl That Was In That Movie" about character actors who might look familiar but aren't megacelebrities, and none of them were rich. You might get one gig a year and then have to live off that for who knows how long.
reminds me of Nikki Blonsky working in a shoe store or hair salon idk....but lots of actors and reality stars actually make very little
