This woman's children ought to be ashamed. If I knew my mother was sleeping on a wood board in a tiny room, I would not be sitting around worrying about the fact that the hotel I threw at her to keep her occupied might not make a profit.

Yup. I bet she couldn't live alone anymore and her kid didn't want her living at his house so he bought the hotel instead for her to 'keep busy,' hopefully make money off the deal, and there would always be someone around to keep an eye on her.

idk i feel like maybe she wasn't such a great mom or that she is difficult to deal with, and that's why the guy lets her run the hotel and keeps her out of his hair. the way she thought it was acceptable for guests to sleep in dirty, run down conditions, and eat the food she was feeding them was really bizarre and shows a disconnect to me.
