well, it was a show that revolved around people dying and the last scene shows how each of the main characters die.

It is, it was the perfect ending for the show. Also the actors are great and play the characters really well thoughout the show, you can't help but feel attached to all of them, flaws and all.

this. Also, it was the way it played out as well, I believe. Between the final scenes and the obituaries they posted on the site later on, you didn't just see how each of them died but how each of them lived out their lives and eventually overcame (or didn't) the struggles we saw them deal with throughout the seasons, even if it was in brief intervals.

And it was all while witnessing one of the main characters finally leave her family and life behind to go on a journey where she would finally find herself. Her imagining Nate running alongside her car as she was driving away? That kills me every time
