I seriously didn’t want to see him, I was afraid in other words. Eunhyuk wouldn’t ask a person to go and see him all of a sudden, plus, he didn’t give me any specific reason as to why I should go see him in the park. Whatever his reason was, I couldn’t say ‘no, I can’t’ after we returned to the way we were back then.
Donghae said:
Ok… but why right now?
Eunhyuk said:
It’s important, and I need you.
Donghae said:
Oh… ok, I’ll go right now, bye.
I logged off, left the computer on, and then headed towards the door that separated my house and fear. It’s important; just those 2 simple words made me wonder what’s so important whatever he wanted to tell me? As I walked on the silent street, I entered a mini mart to buy strawberry milk as present for him. I knew that he did well on his exams, probably with more effort than last year’s exams. Hopefully, the strawberry milk can make him happy, since I feel that he is sad. Sometimes I can feel what he feels… he’s like an open book, obvious?
I started to feel nervous as I started to get near the park. I’m going crazy… what does he want? I thought as I stepped on the green grass that was part of the park. Eunhyuk was walking in circles, with his head down. Then, he just sat on a nearby bench, still with his head down. Should I just go and ask him what’s wrong?
“Eunhyuk!” I called as I ran towards him.
Eunhyuk didn’t look up to see me; he just stood up from the bench and waited for me to be in front of him. As soon as I was in front of him, he just leaned his body a little bit towards me, and laid his head on my right shoulder. No words came out from his mouth; he was quiet for some minutes until his body started to shake. For a moment, I didn’t know what to do… ask or just comfort him with my helpless hand; I decided to rub his back with my hand. After some time later, he started to cry.
“I… I didn’t… know…” He said between sobs.
“About… what?” I asked as he started to cry more.
“About… Sungmin... and-“
“Don’t say it anymore…”
We just stood there, Eunhyuk crying on my shoulder and I, rubbing his back. I felt helpless at the moment Eunhyuk cried more. All I could do was rub his back just to comfort him. Between best friends, the one to comfort should say something… but in our case, I couldn’t say anything. After 20 minutes passed, Eunhyuk stopped crying and hugged me.
“What have I been doing over 2 months? I think I wasted my time…” Eunhyuk said near my ear.
“Eunhyuk… I wanted to tell you about them, but I knew you would react… really bad.”
“Well, I guess I’m glad that I found out that…” Again, Eunhyuk set to cry.
“Eunhyuk… don’t cry, please. I know it’s really hard… but seeing you this way, my heart can’t take it anymore.”
“Thank… you… Donghae.”
I hugged Eunhyuk back and even tighter than him, maybe. Suddenly, I just started to cry too.
“Why are you crying, Donghae?” Eunhyuk asked me as he stopped crying.
“Eunhyuk… I love you. I feel like I can’t help you at all, I’m not a good best friend.”
“Donghae… it’s okay. I have you in my arms, that’s all I need right now.”
We stopped hugging each other, and I gave him his favorite drink, the strawberry milk. He just snapped the bottle from my hand, and a second later, he was drinking it with a pleased face. After he saw that we were both standing up, he just made a gesture to sit down on the bench he sat before all this drama happened. Of course, I just sat on the bench and stared at his cute face.
“You know… you’re too cute, Eunhyuk.” I said without thinking.
“Uh? Eh… thanks!” Eunhyuk said, blushing. “Donghae… I missed you.”
“You missed me? We have been talking through-“
“I know that we have been talking through MSN a lot. I meant that… I missed your presence. You’re always by my side; whenever I need you, you’re always there for me. The week you were upset with me, I used to turn to my side just to see nothing. You looked happy with Leeteuk and Kibum, and I didn’t want to take you away from them because you were so happy. The day you came to school, I was happy and took the chance to talk to you. In other words, before the final exams week, I was depressed.”
“Eunhyuk… I’m sorry for leaving you,” I said hugging him again. “I was so angry at you because you wouldn’t stop staring at Sungmin even after our fights, and that made me want to tell you the truth about Sungmin and Kyuhyun. BUT, I care about you, your happiness and such. Sorry.”
“It’s okay, Donghae. I started to feel something’s going on between Sungmin and Kyuhyun. I’m sorry that I made you upset for 100 things, I’m a stupid person.”
“I know you’re stupid, but you’re way beyond stupid,” I said it as a joke.
“Now you’re being mean to me,” he said with a pout.
In my mind, he’s the cutest person I’ve ever seen. His pout was kind of funny, yet cute. Just for a second, I could feel my heart beat faster than ever, am I still in love with him? oh crap, I even said "I love you"
“Donghae, are you day dreaming?”
With that question, I came back to reality. Eunhyuk was waving his hands in front of my face, and when he saw that I was back to reality, he just smiled at me. Silence took over us for 5 minutes, and then Eunhyuk broke it saying that he has to go home. I just nodded, and we both started to walk away from each other. How sad that my short visit to the park would end so fast, but it felt good to lift all the secrets out of my chest. Suddenly, I felt someone glomp behind me and cover my eyes with hands.
“Guess who?” the voice was pretty familiar.
“Eunhyuk, you said you had to go home.” I said as he took his hands away from my face.
“You’re no fun, Donghae. Since we’re already in vacations, I thought I should spend some time with my best friend… anyways, the last time I’ve visited your house was last year.” He grabbed my hand and started to walk towards my house.
When we went inside my home, he looked around the place. Then we went straight to my room, he was actually exploring my room. Everything changed since his last visit; there was a T.V., a bigger desk with lots of books on top of it, and my clothes were organized.
“Everything changed here,” Eunhyuk said still looking around my room.
“That’s because you barely come. You should come here more often.”
“I think that’s what I’ll do over my vacations, to visit you everyday. Probably you’ll get tired of me and end up kicking me out of your house,” he said as he laid down on my bed. “This bed is comfortable, join me.”
“First, I wouldn’t kick you out of my house because you would come over the next day, and second, this is my bed. Who told you to lay down on it?” I asked it as a joke, and laid down next to him.
I turned my head to stare at Eunhyuk, but to my surprise, Eunhyuk was staring at me already. His gaze was so intense that I felt my heart would come out any second. I blushed and turned my head away from his gaze.
“Donghae… if you could have 3 wishes granted, what would they be?” Eunhyuk asked just to return the mood we had earlier.
“Um… I guess I want lots of money, peace over the world, and the person I love… love me back.”
“Well… I guess I can grant you one of your wishes,” Eunhyuk said as he moved closer to me, laying sideway now.
“Sure, like if you have lots of money.”
“Not that.”
“You can’t bring peace over the world, not even if you had powers to do it.” I giggled.
“I know I can’t do that, but I can love you back.”
I wasn’t sure if I had to believe his words or not, yet I blushed again. I grabbed a pillow and hid my face with it.
“What about Sungmin? You cried when you found out that he was dating Kyuhyun… do you even know what Love is?”
“Yes… I know what love is.”
“What is it?”
“Love is when you feel that your heart beat faster when you meet that special person. It is when you feel jealousy when that special person is talking with someone else. It is when you feel the need to protect that person from danger. It is when you think about that person 24/7. It is when you feel that you want to stay with that person forever…”
“Eunhyuk… still… what about Sungmin?”
“I just got over him; I realized that I just liked him by his looks. In reality, I felt empty when you were didn’t talk to me at all. I was jealous of Leeteuk and Kibum because you showed your smile to them, not to me.”
“So why did you cry when we were in the park?”
“I was angry at myself; I didn’t know that I was in the moon for 2 months. I never realized Sungmin’s expression when he was with Kyuhyun; I was blinded by Sungmin’s cuteness. Leeteuk came to me one day, he told me to pay attention to Sungmin’s expressions and movements when he was with Kyuhyun. When I visited Kyuhyun, Sungmin acted all childish with him. With me, he acted all like a serious man. Thanks to Leeteuk and his super advice, I’m finally able to see everything clear.”
Eunhyuk started to caress my cheek with one hand, and later, he hugged me tightly. I hugged him back when he was going to release me from his hug. He kissed on my forehead and whispered next to my ear, “I don’t want to leave you; I want to be always by your side.”
When I stopped hugging him, he just stared at me. The next moment, he kissed me on the lips. I was going to push him away, but I just gave in to the kiss. He broke the kiss and smiled at me.
“I know that I shouldn’t ask you this because you might think that I’m just playing with your feelings, and to tell you the truth, I’m not playing with your feelings. I’ll understand if you say no, and I’ll wait for you. Do you want to be my boyfriend?”
“Eunhyuk… I believe you that you’re not playing with my feelings because I can feel your honesty in your words. Could you wait for me?”
He just nodded and hugged me again. At 6 p.m., he had to go back home. I didn’t want him to go, but I knew that if he doesn’t go, his mom would give him a big discussion about “coming back home late.” So when he started to walk away from my house, I just stared at his back. Poor Eunhyuk… I thought.
“Eunhyuk! Do you want me to accompany you?” I shouted at him.
“I would love to, but I don’t want you to walk back to your home alone. I can go back by myself, don’t worry!” with that, he set to run towards his home.
I closed the door and headed towards my room. My cell phone began to vibrate; I didn’t want to answer it, but what if it was Eunhyuk? I grabbed my cell phone and saw the caller ID, Leeteuk.
“Hi Donghae!”
“Hi Leeteuk…”
“What’s with that response? Cheer up, we’re in vacations! Anyways, do you want to go watch a movie?”
“Sure, which one?”
“You know that one... ‘The Uninvited’”
“Okay, by the way, can I bring Eunhyuk along?”
“Sure you can… are you two boyfriends or what?”
“Not yet, he asked me and…”
“and…?”
“I just told him to wait.”
“Oh… -sigh- Donghae, some things you need to say YES. You should have seen his face when we were in the first day of final exams; he was really depressed that you weren’t there.”
“Awww, I guess he really got over Sungmin.”
“Yeah… he is! He doesn’t stare at Sungmin anymore… which it’s a miracle. Now, he stares at you with an intense gaze that even Kibum is scared of.”
“Thanks for telling me, Leeteuk. Anyways, tomorrow at the movies right?”
“Yup, tomorrow at 7 p.m.”
“Okay, I’ll be there with Eunhyuk.”

The next day, Eunhyuk came to my house without calling me before hand. He wanted to surprise me, and he really did. I didn’t take a shower at all, in other words, I just woke up. He told me that he’ll wait for me in the living room, while I take a shower and other stuffs. So I did take time to shower, to brush my teeth, and to put my clothes on. When I came out of my room, he just stood in front of me and hugged me like there was no end. The rest of the day, we spent our day watching T.V., eating ice cream, and talk in the park. At 5 p.m., I asked Eunhyuk if he wanted to go to the movies, obviously, he just nodded. He called his mom to tell her that he was going to the movies with some friends, and hung his cell phone. At 6 p.m., we met with Leeteuk, Kangin, Yesung, Ryeowook, Siwon, and Hankyung. When we were going to buy the tickets, we saw Sungmin and Kyuhyun buying their tickets. In that moment, I stared at Eunhyuk; he wasn’t staring at Sungmin, he was staring at me.
“There’s Sungmin, Eunhyuk.”
“I know, but that doesn’t matter.”
He grabbed my hand and intertwined our fingers, then squeezed as if he didn’t want to let me go.
“You’re mine even though we’re not lovers yet.”
I blushed at his statement. I could feel my temperature raising. Eunhyuk just laughed and pinched my cheeks with his free hand.
“You’re cute.”
During the movie, Kangin put his arm over Leeteuk’s shoulder and pulled him closer, while Leeteuk covered his eyes with his own hands. Yesung had his eyes glued to the movie, and Ryeowook laid his head on Yesung’s shoulder to sleep. Siwon and Hankyung were eating their popcorn fast. Eunhyuk just hold my hand as he watched the movie. Other people were screaming, others were laughing at how stupid the scene was. At the end of the movies, everyone decided to go to their own path. Eunhyuk and I just decided to go back to our houses and sleep. What I didn’t expect was that Eunhyuk walked me home. In front of my house, Eunhyuk waited for me to get in. When he saw that I didn’t reach for the door knob, he told me to get inside fast or that I’ll catch a cold.
“Eunhyuk… you asked me if I wanted to be your boyfriend yesterday… right?”
Eunhyuk stopped insisting and nodded.
“Well… did you give up on me already?”
“No, I’ll never give up on you.”
“Good.” I said and planted a kiss on his lips.
“Does that mean that we are lovers now?” Eunhyuk asked as he put his arms around my waist, pulling me closer to him.
“I love you,” I said as I kissed him again.
“I love you more,” Eunhyuk said as he kissed me back.
“Want to stay over?”
“Sure, I don’t care if my mom gives me a big discussion the next day.”
We just entered my home, and laid on my bed. I cuddled next to Eunhyuk, while he hugged me for the whole night. Life is fair now.

Yesung had his eyes glued to the movie, and Ryeowook laid his head on Yesung’s shoulder to sleep. Siwon and Hankyung were eating their popcorn fast. Eunhyuk just hold my hand as he watched the movie. Other people were screaming, others were laughing at how stupid the scene was. At the end of the movies, everyone decided to go to their own path. Eunhyuk and I just decided to go back to our houses and sleep. What I didn’t expect was that Eunhyuk walked me home. In front of my house, Eunhyuk waited for me to get in. When he saw that I didn’t reach for the door knob, he told me to get inside fast or that I’ll catch a cold.
“Eunhyuk… you asked me if I wanted to be your boyfriend yesterday… right?”
Eunhyuk stopped insisting and nodded.
“Well… did you give up on me already?”
“No, I’ll never give up on you.”
“Good.” I said and planted a kiss on his lips.
“Does that mean that we are lovers now?” Eunhyuk asked as he put his arms around my waist, pulling me closer to him.
“I love you,” I said as I kissed him again.
“I love you more,” Eunhyuk said as he kissed me back.
“Want to stay over?”
“Sure, I don’t care if my mom gives me a big discussion the next day.”
We just entered my home, and laid on my bed. I cuddled next to Eunhyuk, while he hugged me for the whole night. Life is fair now.
