If all I said was bullshit (btw, you shouldn't refer to two different people in the same paragraph in the same paragraph, unless you are saying what your friend said is bullshit) why is it I have proof and you do not? Let's look at some of those webpages you linked. From the first: "il.lu.mi.na.ti -- \il-.u:-m*-'na:t-e-\ n [It & NL; It, fr. NL, fr. L, pl. of illuminatus] pl cap 1: any of various groups claiming special usu. religious enlightenment 2: persons who are or who claim to be unusually enlightened"
Just about every religious organization is part of the illumanti. You are part of the illumanti, Ricky, by claiming you know the illumanti exist. After all, you seem to be "unusually enlightened" with some proof that the illumanti exist and our government is completely corrupt.
From the second link: "We've found an excellent summary of the entire Illuminati Conspiracy theory."
Thank you for linking to a site that states it's a theory. It's a theory, that means there's not enough proof to prove it. 'nuff said.
I refuse to go to the commondreams website--I did some current events from their site, and they're a bunch of leftist weasels who, coincidentally, rely on drawing conclusions for their readers. So moving on to the CBS link:
"'What's important about the undergraduate years of Skull and Bones, as opposed to fraternities, is that it imbues them with a kind of mission for moral leadership,' says Rosenbaum. 'And it's something that they may ignore for 30 years of their life, as George W. Bush seemed to successfully ignore it for quite a long time. But he came back to it.'"
Moral leadership? Shit, I'd want them in power over some of the yahoos in government who have *no* moral leadership.
Thank you for opening my eyes, I'm going to vote for anyone who was in the Skull and Bones. Furthermore:
"'Skull and Bones narrowly endorsed admitting women,' says Robbins. 'The day before these women were supposed to be initiated, a group of Bonesmen, including William F. Buckley, obtained a court order to block the initiation claiming that letting women into the tomb would lead to date rape. Again more legal wrangling; finally it came down to another vote and women were admitted and initiated.'"
If they were helping to run the world, they wouldn't need court orders and votes to eventually lose their side of the argument anyway.
I looked at some of the pages in the third link and, well, it's also all theory... unproven, some of it believable, some of it unbelievable.
As for the PATRIOT Act, yes I've heard of it and read it. Normally, the PATRIOT Act wouldn't be as bad as the news made it out to be (notice a pattern yet?) with one exception: requests for information are confidential. Throw that phrase out, and it would essentially be clarifying what law enforcement officers have been doing for years. A judge still needs to okay a search, people cannot (and it states this in the Act) be investigate for actions under the first amendment, and etc.
And, thank you for bringing that up, too. The Supreme Court has already struck down the most controversial sections of the Act, and the entire thing is facing huge opposition in Congress to being renewed. Given the Supreme Court's long standing tradition of pissing off the current president in power, if Congress renews some sections of the act, you can get the Supreme Court will have something to say about it.
Re: Mike and derrick, you gusy will love this.weaselboy13June 12 2005, 23:34:52 UTC
Now tell me again how the Illumanti and Skull and Bones are controlling everyone in the government? How does the Bill of Rights and Constitution not matter when, you know, the PATRIOT Act appears it is going to be struck down based on THOSE VERY DOCUMENTS? If you claim our "government", consisting of thousands of people, "twists facts and lies", why are you believing this bullshit article that has clearly twisted facts and lied? You are a hypocrite, that's why. A hypocrite who believes whatever he wants so he can maintain the false illusion of "Big Brother" so you can blame your irrational fears on someone. I've heard psychiatrists can do wonders for people like you. If you can afford their ungodly fee, please let me know. Maybe what you should do is grow some nuts, cowboy up, and admit you have no proof. I have a hard time believing you've gotten more proof than me, given your stellar arguments in this debate have shown you have done little to none of your own research, whereas I, and others like me, have.
I don't care what you say, I care what you can prove--which thus far has been nothing outside of reminding me why cross checking facts = good. You and your friend's outright denial of facts is sickening, and by believing that article, you are doing more to help turn the U.S. into a bunch of "sheeple" than me or anyone else who checks the FACTS. To paraphrase your friend: you blindly believe and trust verbatim all you see in print, as you are naive enough to think just because it is in black and white or some kind of media form (not to mention it gives you someplace to pin your irrational fears) it must be "by God true!"
And before you speak of "epithets", I prefer to think of this as a tirade. That way your not limited to just a few words of mine that are... "abusive", but the whole damn thing is! Cheers!
At least you could have brought up something slightly believable, like the Majestic 12 (theorized to be a group of 12 of the most powerful men in the country tasked with investigating and covering up UFO crash landings--if the group or landings ever existed).
It's okay to have a healthy level of skepticism, contrary to what you have stated, I do. I do not trust most of the people in power on a singular level. But there's a problem, the government isn't on a singular level, it must operate on a collective level to function properly. The Legislature operating as a body can overturn a president's orders. The Supreme Court operating as a body can strike down entire laws. The president, acting as a body with this cabinet, can create executive orders to help the U.S. As a group, I trust the government. As a group, I trust the Supreme Court or legislature to block the Mental Health Commission if (read: IF) it becomes unjust. They haven't let me down yet, in fact, they've done a damn fine job for the last, oh, 230 years or so.

*sigh* The lack of an editing function is beginning to annoy me.
Anyway, no sense in repeating the method of post, delete, repost with edits, so here we go:
If you want to read a well-researched conspiracy theory, one I might actually put some stock into, look here. Next time you want to talk about conspiracy theories, if you want to bring up one that's not either complete B.S. or based purely on "well he said so!" feel free to read and learn: http://www.anomalies-unlimited.com/Denver_Airport.html
I know it brings up the Illumanti, Skull and Bones, and etc., but keep in mind (in the webmaster's own words): "The rest of the Alex Christopher interview can be found on the web. I couldn't deal with it, myself. It talked about Reptilian Aliens and Nazis working in DIA, people seeing hibernation tubes full of them, how They and Theirs were just waiting to make us all Dinner and how the Holy Angelic Saviors would come down and save us. It was full of disinformation, things that have been proven to be hoaxes cited as Honest To God serious and books were brought up as research that were written as Sci-Fi. I don't have much patience for it. People will think about what they see, so I showed the thinkable part."
