HO SHIT
so I just finished listening to Ring Ding Dong and decidedly fell in love with it, and I was like, 'Oh man. those poor rookies [BEAST and MBLAQ] are so screwed.' then I watched the BEAST teaser....OH MAN. [ps: what's with the name changes? and how in the world can you then name your first release "BEAST is B2ST" and not expect people to be confused that first your name was B2ST and pronounced beast, and now your name is BEAST and B2ST is to be pronounced best?]
anyway~ what a f*cking awesome teaser lol. I think they're trying a little too hard to be ultra thug, but oh gosh did they get my fangirl juices flowing. (hmm. I know you can say *creative juices* flowing, but somehow fangirl juices flowing just sounds...dirty. woops) the minute the beat started and they began dancing...I was a goner [I just watched it again...even w/o the surprise factor it did it again. idk, you guys....;-)]
I sincerely hope their own music will be good....I almost don't want them to debut b/c I'm sure they'll disappoint lol. wow am I cynical :P [the last group I totally anticipated, also from Cube, was not quite what I expected.....]
So then I looked for the MBLAQ teaser and thought to myself, Oh man between SHINee and the potential I see in BEAST, good luck to these boys. I was kinda expecting my to be pleasantly surprised once more, sending me into a fangirl climax (uh oh. again. that just sounds...dirty)
instead, speaking of dirty, when I saw the beginning I was like WTF lolololol. Rain's continued Engrish throughout the teaser continued the luls. and overall I see potential I guess, but their teaser is a far cry from BEAST's
And then I turned full circle and felt bad for SHINee, the only in the newest crop of boybands not embracing the new manly/beastly POWAHH. I mean, frankly, I think it's HILARIOUS and ridiculous that Korea's going gaga over 2PM's supposed "beastliness" and now all these boybands are acting like this...but that's another discussion all together. seriously, gender and sexuality in Kpop is one of the most interesting things ever.
anyway, back to SHINee and their still-awesome song. A bit too autotuned for my liking ("Afro-tuned"? wait, did SM really come up with that?! rofl) and lulsy Engrish, but so catchy and just fugging awesome. was there even a rap? I don't really know and I definitely don't care. I'm just anticipating the choreo LIKE HELL because SHINee definitely has THE BEST choreography around, hands down. 2PM, you're awesome and acrobatic and all, but SHINee choreography is simply unrivaled in awesomeness. or should I say, it is SO FANTASTIC SO ELASTIC hahahahah
And to round out the testosterone-filled week, FT Island's comeback which of course is a completely different style altogether. I'm not a huge fan of FTI's music, but I did adore "I Hope" so maybe this'll grow on me. But in general I could do without Hongki's agonized moaning and groaning ("I Hope" was more upbeat and less agonized. as the title would suggest. which is probably why I liked it :P)
UPDATE: so I watched BEAST's 2nd teaser and listened to their song. I like Bad Girl, and from the teaser I still am very excited by their dancing although I prefer 4/6 of them with scarves over their faces lol I know I'm terrible. also, the hoodie/skinnies/sneakers is seriously way hotter than this crazy shiznit they're sporting. yeah. anyway.
