Carolyn and Aatish return tomorrow from two weeks in Bombay. Two Skype sessions tell me they are doing well, and having an intensely fabulous time. From the count that I can make, it seems that about 80 family members have met Carolyn. She's somehow kept track of who is connected to which side of the family, and how, and what they do for a living, and which outskirts of Bombay they live in. They've visited 2000 year old caves, markets, riden camels, and attended concerts, seen art galleries, bought "stuff" and eaten very, very interesting food. I'm living vicariously, but it doesn't seem to have done anybody any harm. Now Carolyn is officially embraced by many great people; it sounds a little like the time that neice Gwen married Luis and all his family loved us up on general principals at first, and then specifically because we all really liked each other. If anything ever happens to me, I know Carolyn has a huge family on Tish's side to help keep her safe and loved. It's the most intense wish I've had, and I didn't know I had it until this trip unfolded. It's good.
