So I was bored and I decided to look at all the profiles on my buddy list (Don't act like you haven't been there, anyone who has, or reads a 'live journal' has done it.) And I had some sort of an epiphany; most of the happiest people in the world today are the people who don't take time to think about anything at all. Do you think that's a good

Nick you have some things backwords and other things in your post about all the "ideological bullshit" in America, you dont even know what you mean. Lets start off... ''Most of the worlds happiest people today are people who dont take time to think about anything at all." thats just plain wrong. You cant be happy without being grateful, and you cant be gratful if you dont take time to see what you have, who you have, where you came from and where you are going. If you dont think, you are just going to get hit time after time by lifes ups and downs and you will just go with it. You will not think things like "this is pretty hard, but ive been down and out before and i overcame that, theres no reason why i cant overcome this." You have to want to be happy, and you have to let nothing stop you from being happy. and as for the saying "life is to short to be unhappy" - it is very true. Tomorrow may never come. Did you think about that when you had your "Epiphany"? Maybe you want to die depressed and dwelling on what you dont have, but when i die i want to die having a happy and accomplished mind set. I believe that you have to live your life like tomorrow is your last day. If we did that, do you think that there would be so many people down and out all the time? if tomorrow was your last day, would you spend it thinking about how sam screwed you over a couple times and how you still want her regardless? if tomorrow was your last day, would you want to go out with a bang or just sit home on your computer dwelling on the fact that its almost over?
However, i do agree with you that it is too bad that no one takes anything seriously anymore, but only to a certain extent. "The youth of america is killing the true art with its ideological bullshit" nick- i highly doubt that you know what you said. Its not the youth of america that is killing the true art... its the people who dont care about anyone else or their fellings, its the selfish people, the greedy people, the people who sit alone at thier computer or video games all day not getting off their ass to try and make a difference or try to help somone else out. the "true art'' is being killed by technology. the true art is being killed by people who are only in it for themselves. the "true art" is being killed by people who dont give a damn about making this country a better place to live, its being killed by the people that just want to make their world a better place to live. Its being killed by all the people with green eyes (greedy). also, there is nothing wrong with being obsessed with pop culture. It is when you try to covent the singers or actors... thats when it goes downhill. If everyone would just follow their own dreams, and be as authentic and genuine as possible, this world would be alot better. As for "embracing new technology" and all of that stuff, i think it is part of the reason that americans are so hated around the world. check it out - 40 some odd years ago JFK went to a european country and asked for backing in the cold war, when he went to show the evidence against the soviets and cubans, the european countrys leader said somthing along the lines of "you dont need to show us, we trust you'' - do you think any countrys would say that about us now? i believe that the inventions of new technologys is one of the reasons so many people in our culture are lacking morals and are in this world just for themselves. Dont get me wrong, im not going to throw my dvds away or anything like that, but i just belive that all of the technologys such as cell phones and pcs and what have you are part of the reason for the downfall.
