The Night I Forgot I Was A Gamer
Yesterday was the first night of SS3 Singapore. I went with two of my very good friends, Drusilla and Melina.
Drusilla's my bestest friend and she's always been into Super Junior. Her faves are Ryeowook and Donghae. Two years ago, when she was telling me all about Super Junior, I was like "Huh." Not interested.
Melina's my eating buddy-slash-good friend. She likes Sungmin and Leeteuk. She was practically spamming me with Suju videos during the long break where we were waiting to get our O Level results. I was bored, so I just watched them. And then I got hooked. And then I watched Kyuhyun singing 'A Whole New World' with Charice and the rest was history.
So when Super Junior was finally coming to Singapore, I was stoked. Didn't manage to get tickets for the first day, queued up to buy tickets for the second day, exchanged the tickets for seating ones on the first day... It was really messy, but we got our tickets and we were so excited.
When we were waiting in our seats, we were really restless. Like "When's the concert gonna start?" Then the lights dimmed and everyone cheered.
Started off with a VTR of...giant Super Junior stomping through the city. We were basically LOL throughout. XDD And screaming when the members were shown one by one.
Donghae came out flying in the middle of the circular thing (LMAO, I have no idea what it's called) and then he flew back inside. The thing then rose up, revealing 5 other members kneeling. And then camera panned to the other 4 members appearing at different parts of the stage.
The first song was 'Sorry Sorry (Concert Remix)'. Real cool, but I was happy when they went back to the normal pace after Donghae's part. When I saw Kyuhyun do that certain part alone (without Han Geng and Kangin), I was kinda sad. ): *sighs*
Next was 'Super Girl'. I totally saw Zhou Mi and nudged Drusilla.
Me: Oh my god! It's Zhou Mi! *points at stage*
Dru: Eh? *looks* No, it's Leeteuk!
Me: No, it's really Zhou Mi!!
Several seconds later, the camera pans to Henry.
Me: Henry! See! It's really Zhou Mi!
Dru: Hahahahaha, oh my god! Joke!
Then, it was 'Don't Don'. How I love this song. <3 Hell yeah, hip thrusts!
I was waiting for a YehMin moment and it didn't happen. ;A; WAEEEEEEEE.
Then the circular thing opened and TRAX and Zhou Mi appeared! And Heechul was on the drums! (Not sure about Henry though, if he was even there.) Some more members were flying again.
The fourth song was 'No Other'. Cute as usual; Siwon was such a joker. XD When Leeteuk and Sungmin were flying, throwing paper strips (?) from basket with balloons tied to them, I was like :3333. "COME FLY OVER HERE!!!" Alas, it was not meant to be. XD
And after this, I totally forgot the sequence of the songs so yeah. XD
Next was a SJ-M song, I think. I'm not sure. Leeteuk teared up at one part and we were all ;A; as well.
Then it was 'Good Person'. Siwon tried to kiss Kyuhyun. Cue the fangirl screams! When it came to Yesung's part near the end, some members just shoved their microphones into his face. Sungmin was into the moment, singing that part in front of him. XD
When the members were introduced individually, it was so hilarious. Donghae as the English guard was precious.
Henry singing 'Baby' was too precious. Mochi's just too talented!
When Zhou Mi came on, I just went 8D. His shoulder-popping was just so addictive!
'Rokkugo' was up and the people in front of us stood up. We had no choice but to stand up as well. I love this song, it's such a cracktastic song. 8D At the end, they all ran back to the stage and Heechul was lagging behind, that poor guy, hahaha!
'One Fine Spring Day' had Sungmin playing the guitar. (This talented boy! ;A;) Ryeowook's vocals were really clear and melodious. I tried singing along but I mostly know only the chorus so I stopped and listened to him. Yeah, and Drusilla was all :3333. Ryeowook's cheekbones astound us all and I believe they can cut glass. So perfect. ;A;
Next was Kyuhyun's solo, 'Xin Bu Liao Qing', I believe. Don't ask me what it stands for cause I don't understand Chinese. Kyuhyun's voice was awesome as usual, but I would have been in a daze if he had sang 'Hope Is A Dream That Never Sleeps'.
Then came Sungmin's solo and I was conflicted. I have nothing against Manly!Sungmin, believe me, but this performance had so much awkward turtles I just... His hip thrusts are impressive though.
(To me, in Super Junior, Han Geng's the king of hip thrusts, Sungmin's the queen, Donghae's the first prince, Kyuhyun's the second prince and Yesung's the...court jester. XDDD)
Then it was Siwon's solo, 'Looking For The Day'. A Christian song, so I was like :|. His accent was kinda lulzy, but he sang fine. (: Shibrows were in full force though.
Eunhyuk and Donghae's 'I Wanna Love You'.... What can I say about this. Surprised by Hyuk's abs, hahaha! Hae... Y U NO SHOW MORE? 8D And I fear for the female back-up dancer's safety; openly molesting the two boys in front of a few thousand E.L.F... Gurl, you in danger.
'Tok Tok Tok' had Suju-T (sans Kangin, add Donghae) in sparkly sequin suit jackets which half-blinded me. HeeMin slowdancing together amused me to no end. Eunhyuk kissed Donghae's hand. Score one for HaeHyuk! And when Sungmin pulled on Hyuk's bow tie, Hae pulled on the back of it. Two points for HaeHyuk! I didn't know Leeteuk sang that long note. Super impressed, Leader-shii! It ended with Boss!Heechul telling the members to keep their heads down, while they knelt in front of him. Oh Heechul.
There was one song where they all lined up and held each others' shoulders, like a train and ran around the stadium. Ryeowook was leading and he kind of ventured off-course at one point. XD
When Lady Heehee appeared, everyone went crazy. Heechul wore this wig which closely resembled a banana chip. 8D And he amazed everyone with his heels. I mean, damnnn.
Then Shindong and his two back-up dancers, Eunhyuk and Donghae, appeared and I was all 8D. I just died laughing and was reborn and died again. Donghae, your wig is horrible! Eunhyuk, your arms distract me. Shindong, whoa.
Then Heechul appeared for 'Crazy In Love' and everyone went crazy. The two male and four female back-up dancers appeared and danced as well. I could tell that they were trying to hold in their laughter. If I were them, I would have failed so miserably.
Next, I think, was 'In My Dream'. Flawless vocals as usual, and Yesung's ad-libbing.... <3
Then they had this mock orchestra where everyone was pretending to play instruments. Kinda lolworthy and then Kangin's hologram appeared. I kinda teared up here. ):
'All My Heart' is pure preciousness. Lots of hearts.
The VTR for 'Shake It Up' was pure UNF. Everyone was droolworthy, especially Yesung. He should just keep baring his arms and wear low-cut tank tops. Leeteuk singing Han Geng's part made me wibble a little. I'm so happy they sang it, it's one of my most favourite songs.
Dru: Eh, why only Kyuhyun's wearing red?
Me: Cause he's awesome.
'Twins' brought back memories of their bad hair. 8D It also made me wonder if Yesung was ad-libbing for like more than half of the song.
Yesung's solo, 'It Had To Be You', was simply amazing. The entire stadium was singing along with him, especially the chorus. When he held out his mic to ask the audience to sing along, they (the three of us included, of course) sang along. I could see that he was really touched. Okay, now I feel really sentimental. Just let me curl up in a fetal position in a corner and rock myself back and forth. ;A;
Before they showed Bonamana, there was this really long VTR of them acting as high-class people. (Well, Siwon and Kyuhyun don't need to act, they're already rich kids so yeah lol.) Ryeowook was in a sports car, Siwon was mingling at a party and playing pool, Kyuhyun was walking around, being impervious to the paparazzi, and Heechul was doing some kind of photo shoot.
Then, everyone appeared. (SIWON, WHAT ARE YOU WEARING? YOU IS A GOOD JOB.) I had fun trying to keep up with the fan chants! Anticipated the TeukChul moment; we were rewarded with Leeteuk pulling down his suit jacket and Heechul grabbing him. During the dance break, we shouted 'Sa!" rather enthusiastically. 8D (AND I CAN'T HOLD THIS IN. YESUNG WAS LOOKING PRETTY FINE HERE.)
Somewhere here, Siwon took off his shirt/vest-thing and everyone went crazy. Glorious abs. Glorious. He soon put his shirt back on, of course. XD
When it came to 'A Man In Love (Remix)', I just went FUUUU and started to jump up and down. I FREAKING LOVE THIS SONG. Donghae's Engrish, the beat, Kyuhyun's UNF part... I love every part of this song. I'm so glad they sang this. When Kyuhyun appeared to sing his part, I died. When he reappeared to sing Kangin's part, I was reborn again. Glorious I tell you. Glorious. *is incoherent*
Then it came to 'U (Remix)'. Kinda bummed that they didn't dance together, for Sungmin's part is awesome when done as a group. Oh well. The three of us tried to do it at our seats. Needless to say, we failed miserably.
I think it was around here where they said goodbye and everyone was like "WTF?" There was still 'Cooking? Cooking!' so like yeah, most of us were still at our seats, chanting "Encore!"
A VTR for 'Cooking? Cooking!' was shown and it was lulzy. So random mannn. When they finally came out in their vegetable outfits, it was so hilarious. The only YehMin I could spot was Sungmin putting away Yesung's broccoli costume. ;A; I had to ship a rare pairing. BUT I LOVE YEHMIN TOO MUCHHHH.
'Dancing Out' had me bouncing up and down, screaming the lyrics. "DANCING OUT ON THE EDGE!"
It ended with 'Wonder Boy'. I LOVE THIS SONG. (Okay, what song do I NOT love, you must be asking. XDDD)
During this song, I noticed at one point, Yesung had stumbled and was clutching the left side of his face. I couldn't understand why until I saw a video which showed that Yesung got hit in the face with a red light stick. I can't tell whether it really ht his eye, but it was obvious that it hurt. Later, I found out that Kyuhyun was also hit by a blue light stick.
I'm really disappointed with Singaporean K-Pop fans. You guys didn't have to resort to this to get their attention. You're giving fellow Singaporean K-Pop fans, the three of us included, a bad name.
Later on, we met up with one of Melina's friends and we had a swell time taking pictures in front of the humongous SS3 banner.
I want to sum up the members, according to what I've noticed.
Leeteuk: He really doesn't look 28. At all! He was really sweet and when he teared up, I could feel myself wibble. His Engrish, "Thank you very muchy!" and all, made me lolll.
Heechul: He has really pretty features. He did a lot of cracktastic dancing and he was really amusing to watch.
Yesung: I turned into a Cloud yesterday. IN REAL LIFE, HE IS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. I swear. I'm not saying this because I'm biased, he's the member who really surprised me the most, in terms of looks. His eyes were piercing and I melted into a puddle every time the camera panned onto him or when he did his ad-libbings. I was really moved during his solo too. Basically, I swooned the most over him. He also came to our side of the stadium a lot.
Shindong: He looks skinnier in real life, and he's pretty funny. He likes interacting with the audience!
Sungmin: He has really delicate features. Why did he tie up his hair? I do not approve of that hairstyle. He was one of the sweetest members. He interacted with the audience a lot and was really cute during 'Cooking? Cooking!' with Tomato!Ryeowook.
Eunhyuk: While the new hairstyle ain't hot to me, his abs were certainly appealing. Haha, I kid! He joked around a lot, bursting into dance, and made me happy with lots of HaeHyuk.
Siwon: Handsome features, glorious abs, and epic Shibrows. One of the jokers; he kept trying to kiss Kyuhyun and was lulzy when prompting Henry. He's really nice.
Donghae: He's super playful! Coming near the mosh pits and posing, and taking pictures of himself. I love him during the ballads.
Ryeowook: Super squishy! He was adorable as a tomato and was really friendly. He looked in our direction and rendered Dru speechless. I wished his fringe was styled in a way that lets him do his hair flip. I wanted to see it.
Kyuhyun: Was he on crack or something, because he was hilarious! From his "Oh my god!" to his "Unbelievable!" and "Crazy people...", he was just so funny! He looked good too.
Zhou Mi: He's so skinny! He was ferosh during his solo. His shoulder-popping will be stuck in my head for a long, long time.
Henry: Squishy! Super talented boy. He started off on the piano for 'Baby' and then he started to dance and we were all singing along. His accent is precious.
