The phone buzzed with impatience, nudging the room's sole occupant back to consciousness. After some time, it went silent and a soft sigh was heard as he could get back to slumberland once more. However, that reprise was short-lived as the phone started buzzing with a renewed vigor. It vibrated to such a great extent that it jumped off the bedside drawer and onto his - ouch!
Nino was jolted awake at the moment his phone decided to make its impact on his head. He groaned and blearily peaked open one heavy eyelid, to discern who it was that had caused his injury, and hoping that he could perhaps settle a lunch treat as a form of compensation for that bruise. Afterall, he felt perfectly justified for the rude wake-up call at - he flicked his eyes towards the softly illuminating clock - 1.00am.
Nino glared at the harsh light radiating from his keitai, barely able to see who the caller was. His screen surrendered the information immediately and the caller turned out to be -
Eh, Oh-chan? Why would Oh-chan call me at this unearthly hour? Urgh! It is probably nothing important...anything can be settled tomorrow...
With this thought in mind, Nino rejected the call and slowly drifted off to sleep once more. However, it seemed that whatever higher beings up there were not on his side as his phone started buzzing again. Nino was resigned to his fate and finally answered the call. If not he'll never get any peace around here.
Silence.
Then a faint cackling sound seeped through the electronic line.
Nino fully intended to yell at Ohno for wasting his precious sleeping time with a prank call before a sweet voice sounded out, faint and faraway but still clear against his ears.
- Ah! Nino-chan, aishiteru yo~
What?
- Nino-chan wa daisuki!
"Oh-chan? Are you drunk?"
- Wooooooo! Daisuki! Daisuki! -a soft giggle- and the line went dead, leaving Nino wide-eyed and fully awake with no hopes of getting any sleep that night.
