Summary: Already a year has gone by... Definitely time for something special!
"I don't understand... Why did you drive me here?"
"Sorry, Ninomiya-san. It was on request of Matsumoto-san..."
The young idol frowned.
"Hmm... Last time I checked, you are my manager, not Jun's..."
"Forgive me. You may fire me if you wish..."
Nino rolled his eyes. "You know I won't do that..."
"Have a nice evening!" The older man called from the car as Nino stepped out onto the sidewalk.
He was standing outside a standard looking okonomiyaki parlour.
He was just weighing his options when another car pulled up behind him.
He chuckled as he saw a dissorientated Ohno emerging from it.
"Nino? Manager said something about Jun..."
"Yeah..."
"Should we go in?"
"I dunno... How about we go to that ramen place you like? It's close by..."
"Nino... That would be anti-social!" Sho exclaimed just behind him, making Nino jump.
"Jeez... Has he invited the whole universe?" he grumbled.
"Nope, just the four of us!" AIba said cheerfuly coming up next to Sho. "Let's go in! What are you guys doing out here?! I'm starving!!!"
Nino sighed and let himself be pushed into the restaurant.
Jun was already waiting for them at a table in the corner of the room.
"Jun, what are you trying to do?! If people find out we're all here, we're going to have paparazzis all over us!"
"You really don't think I thought it through? I know the manager. He's reserved the whole place for us."
"Great! So we can eat immediately then! Let's sit!" Aiba exclaimed.
As they all took a seat, Sho hummed pensively.
"So... Are you going to tell us why or should we wait for the food?"
"Food! Food first!" Aiba exclaimed.
"Yeah, I'm curious as well..." Ohno murmured.
Jun smiled proudly.
"Well... Don't you know what day it is today?"
The others all looked at him with raised eyebrows. All apart for Aiba who was trying to call the owner over.
"Should we count the number of congratulations we've had?" Sho said with an amused smile.
"If I received a penny everytime someone said Omedetou today..." Nino said his voice full of sarcasm.
"Yes but the question is, was it less or more than last year?"
"Yes but that was different. That was 15 years..."
"And that's exactly why I decided to invite you guys to this dinner." Jun nodded to himself.
Nino grinned. He'd heard the key word. Invite. And now he could relax.
"Of course people congratulated us." Jun continued. "But there was much less excitement than last year. So I thought we should do something extra. 16 years is not something to shrug off as less important than 15 years."
"But the Hawaii trip was so big... Should we go to New York then?" Ohno asked pensively.
Sho laughed. "Yeah, New York Matsujun!"
"That's not what I meant. Even if we don't do something huge like Hawaii. We can still acknowledge the importance of this day." The youngest explained.
"What do you guys want to eat..." Aiba tried asking the table. He'd finally been able to call the owner over.
"We should all go to New york!" Nino interupted. "We should organize that Jun!"
"Well, that would be complicated..." Sho said. "We would need to postpone filming on Shiyagare... It depends on how long we go... But with the jetlag... And so many things to visit..."
"I could go try to find those fish again..." Ohno said with a grin.
"Guys... food..." Aiba tried in vain. Finally he began ordering the food and drinks for all of them.
Nino and Ohno were having a discussion on what they wanted to do in the city that never sleeps.
Seeing Jun sigh, Sho laughed. "You remembered why we don't do this that often?"
Jun chuckled. "No, I have no idea what you're talking about..."
He looked around the group with a small smile.
One year. A whole year since that exhausting and emotionally draining time in Hawaii.
They were all a little older and they were probably not the same as when they had debuted.
But one thing was sure.
He wouldn't change them for the world.
