reach out, touch faith [closed to Phedre]

Iphigenia has noticed that her friend (and sometimes lover) Phedre hasn't been herself lately, and she's a little concerned. So one evening, she'll go to find Phedre in her room.

"I wanted to see you," she says softly. "How are you feeling?" She stands in the doorway, a gentle look upon her face.

Phedre was resting, draped in a robe, and stands to greet her intimate friend, to give her the kiss of greeting and embrace her.

"Love," she says, "come." She's warm, welcoming. "I'm well, of course. But you seem worried, why?"

"I worry about you, because we are close and I care about you," she explains. "That's all."

She sits down next to Phedre. "It is only a worry borne from love."

Phedre reaches for her hand, will give her a reassuring squeeze, if she can.

"Do forgive me if I've given you cause for worry, love," she says earnestly. "Tell me what ails you?"

She smiles a little, looking down, and then over at her friend.

"I feel almost shy about it," she admits.

ooc: is it all right if she tells Phedre about Tristan?

"Tell me," she says, smiling. "You know you have my heart, and nothing you can say will change that. Come now, speak, love."

Er, sure, what's your take on TrisIphi?

"People confuse me," she begins. "Or perhaps I am not good at reading them."

She smiles sheepishly.

ooc: With regards to Tristan, I think she's intrigued by him, but doesn't necessarily have feelings beyond curiosity yet? If that makes sense. She really enjoys how nice he is to her, and how respectful, too. :)

"Mayhap I can teach you some tricks," Phedre replies fondly. "But tell me, love - who causes you to feel this way?"

That sounds good :-)

"It's silly--he's only a man," she explains. "And he's one of the nicest men I've ever met."

"Good men are rare," Phedre agrees, "it's not silly to marvel at the fact that there is one about."

She smiles a bit, and goes on with, "Tell me about him?"

"He's pledged himself to me," she says. "To protect and honor me, that is. And I am honored by that gesture, truly."

She just wants to pay him back, somehow.

"A Cassiline of your own, perhaps?" Phedre replies, smiling a little. "That is good, love. Is it not?"

"It is, yes," she agrees. "I am glad for his honorable nature."

She pauses a moment, choosing her words.

"Could I perhaps find a way to pay him back?"

Phedre's eyebrow rise, and she asks, confused, "As he requested it?"

"He has not, no," she explains. "But I feel obligated, somehow."

Phedre drums onto the table, thinking. "Tell me, is he a member of an order of knights, or monks, love?"

"He is a knight," she replies.
