Getting ready for DragonCon and other... random stuff

Aug 28, 2007 20:51

Man, I hate packing. Trying to get ready for a six day trip is annoying at best. (probably more so for the ladies, but still...) Trying to stuff so much stuff into one suitcase (for guys, this is usually enough) is always a challenge. At least I get to look forward to a cool Con from what I hear. I'll try to update you guys while I'm up there! ^.^

On another note, I'd just about forgotten what it was like to try to woo someone. It's been so long since I've tried that I feel like I'm stumbling around like an idiot. Then again, that's not so much of a change from usual. o.o;

Oh, yeah, last Sunday, I made Japanese 食パン (shokupan)!! I know most people don't think bread baking is such a big deal, but if you've tried shokupan, you'd be drooling right about now! I think I have a picture here somewhere... *digs around a bit* Ah! Here we are...

That would be Mio next to the breads! She's a baker extraordinaire working at the Chocolate Pi cake shop here in Tampa. Check it out at www.chocolatepi.com

In return for showing me how to make Super-Mega-Awesome bread, I cooked dinner for her and her family. No pics of the food though... sorry, but I made Hiyashi Chuuka noodles for lunch, Chicken Cordon Bleu for dinner and Japanese flan (purin) for dessert. Everybody seemed to enjoy it, so I'll call it a success.

Well, off to finish packing...
