I wrote this Saturday morning... and am just now hitting the post button. So here's goes nothing:
It's 4:00 AM, and I just got home from playing Mario on NES with Alan for 5 hours straight. We made a deal to beat the entire game without using warp whistles, and surely we did. I swore I did this with Alan once before.. and he did the same thing he did last time... last level, last castle... BOWSER. Right after he defeats him, he jumps and suicides himself into the pit and we have to do the level all over again. HAH! Asshole! Love it. He made some bangin' corn chowder. It's an Alan speciality. Before that I went to Target and bought a movie I'd never seen before a nd 2 bowls and 2 cups and said hi to one of my many future husbands and my supervisor-like-thing, Joe. Hmm. I live an exciting life, you know.
One of Rob's silly drawings on Nick and Alan's fridge.
And yet another...
Alan eating a napkin after finishing his awesome corn chowder.
The cutest thing ever!
Nick came home from work and joined us..
..in his chef pants. And his ridiculous fuscia colored hair. <3
Nintendo was wearing us out...
But we persisted! Til we defeated the entire game!
Well, mostly Alan did. I sucked a lot.
And then here's to catching up with photos...
APRIL 9 [SATURDAY]: Was an interesting day. I helped Amber clean her car because I promised I would because we had waterballoned her the night before and made her cry. So we cleaned. Went to the dollar store and purchased huge sunglasses, bubbles and waterballons. Went to Uha, sat around outside the Commons, talked to several people and then I pegged Mike Foy with a waterballon and he got wicked pissed! Oh shit... yeah. Then we hung out at Northwest in the freezing cold, somehow ended up at Pricechopper with Dan, Mallory and Bobby in addition at midnight, and from there, dropped off a huge box of matzo in front of Bryan's doorstep because we love him. Bobby came home with me and we watched Slackers, messed around on the interneb and I didn't fall asleep until 6 AM.
Amber, chillin' outside the commons.
Yeah, waterguns and freshman dorms.
Amber taking a photo of herself in Northwest.
We were having a little bit too much fun being bored.
This is what you see looking into Amber's crystal ball of future...
STRIPPER! HAHAHHAA!
Blurry photo = <3
Eh...
Sup huge glasses
Dan & Mallory in Pricechopper.
Bobby dreaming of fruit leather.
Mallory and her box of matzo for Bryan Rosser.
Bobby and Mallory...
imagine Dan freaking out in the background going:
"Guys stop! The cops will get you!"
The package for Bryan.
And the letter.
APRIL 10 [SUNDAY]: Bobby calls at 1 PM and wakes me up, we go to Northwest and walk down a trail that I last walked on last summer when I needed to get away from all the drama that was going down. Fucking boys... yeah, fuck them! But anyways... when I had gone down that trail last summer, I found these random abandoned warehouses, but I was too scared to go in and explore myself because they make really scary and creeky noises with a slight change in the wind. But anyway, Bobby and I explored. And it was so awesome. There was this wall in one of the buildings with posters from magazines of 90s hip hop stars. I took a picture of Big Daddy Kane, but it fell apart in my bag because it was so old and brittle. I took lots of cool photos (including the one I posted in the previous post)...
I got some pictures of Bobby fake skateboarding.
I love this one because it's sooo fake. Hah!
Bobby found it. I didn't believe him at first until I saw it.. hahha!
It's totally from the 80s.
Bobby's "what the fuck" face.
This building was scorched completely.
Bobby on the phone with Shawn, I think.
I thought this looked kinda cool.
Toilet three feet above the ground! Wooahh!
Shit, where'd the floor go? Hah.
Yep..
Room selection.
Uh, yeah, not happy with results.
I'm rooming with three black girls I don't know. Trust, I'm not racist, but I can just see the living situation being very uncomfortable. And I'm in the 5s! WHAT SHITHOLES! I want to be with Angeline, Meghann and Jackie! Not Destiny's Child. Okay, please? But no, nothing seems to be fair in the life of Donna. After all that crap went down, Meghann, Jackie, Chrissy and I went to the Macaroni Grill for dinner because we (except for Chrissy) were all pissed with our rooming assignments for next year. Just imagine Jackie storming into B-complex, our freshman dorms yelling "THE SAME DOOR... THE SAME SMELL, THE SAME ANNOYING STAIRS... THE SAME.. THE SAME RED DOOR! THE SAME BATHROOMS! AHHH!" After dinner, I went over Shawn's and him, Bobby, and I stared at a fire for 2 hours. And tried to keep it lit with cardboard.. Until Dan P (the boyscout) and Mallory showed up. Dan put that shit to work, like a true boyscout. From there, Dan P, Mallory and I - we met up with Jeff Daley and Dave D in the Shop Rite parking lot and from there, we went to the dike... walked about 390523 miles and eventually got to these train tracks that went over water... the most astonishing view of Hartford. I loved it.
Jackie and Meghann sitting and waiting for the table... oh noo...
Meghann head.
Meghann looks a little bit upset. Awww.
Jackie smoking a straw.
Chrissy snorting a crayon.
They had a moment.
With crayons up their noses.
The mess we made.
The art I made.
The fire at Shawn's.. see! Cardboard!
Cardboard from the box the grill came in.
I love this sequence of photos...
Bobby's poking at the fire.
And the fire attacks back.
Look hard enough, you can see his ass on the ground.
The view of Hartford.
Dan not looking too thrilled.
Dicussion of realism.
I think this picture is HILARIOUS.
Sweet Ethels.
The boys flowing...
...and then some.
APRIL 11 & 12 [MONDAY & TUESDAY]: School... work... death. Monday, I was stuck in Northwest Park from 8 AM to 5:30 PM. I fell asleep in my car doing my homework with the keys in ignition, with the radio on (not the engine!) and my battery died. Jeff Daley came to my rescue at about 2:00 PM. I couldn't thank him enough for trying to help me jumpstart my car.. and when that didn't work... keeping me company while Triple A came and did the jumpstarting with that GODDAMN BOX!
APRIL 13 [WEDNESDAY]: School... appointment with Tom Bradley, gave me the thumbs up to take a Intro to Photo class in the Art School next semester. Picked up Shawn at 4:30 PM and went to the Whalers' Party/Rally in Downtown Hartford. It was amazing. What an excuse to get a bunch of nerdy people together. We met this guy named Augie, and he seemed pretty cool. Quote of the day credited to some random guy we passed while walking down the sidewalk to our car when leaving: "What just happened? Did I just step into a time portal?"
Then I dragged Shawn to the Amateur Comedy Night at school. Everyone who did stand up did supremely well. I dropped Shawn off back in Vernon after it was over, came back to school then hung out with Jen and Greg from 11ish to 4:30 AMish. Good times. We hung out at Konover for about 45 minutes, Matt joined us and then we hung out in Matt's room for about an hour, and then mine. I have missed Jen!
Shawn and this kid we met there, Augie.
Augie in deep thought about the Whalers.
Shawn too.
Yeahhh.
Awesome banner.
A bunch of excited guys busted in with these signs.
It was awesommme!
Former Mayor Mike looking pleased.
The guy all the way on the right made me take this.
It's him with Tony Harrington (the guy in the middle) who sang the anthem at Whalers games..
and to the left, Tony's supposed second cousin... but I don't knowww!
Tony singing the anthem.
The news stations were everywhere.
To amateur comedy night... this is DYLAN!
Eli & Sean Cohen, two awesome Jews.
Dylan doing his stand-up rountine.
About 6 hours later, Jen and Greg in my bed. Cuties.
THURSDAY [APRIL 14]: Slept through all my classes and woke up at 3 PM to realize I missed ALL MY CLASSES, missed taking Jackie to the train station (which I feel terrible about) and that I had fallen asleep with my head ontop of my laptop while attempting to write a paper on Jean-Michael Basquiat after Jen & Greg left. SO YEAH... great day. I worked til 10. Jeff, Dave, Steve Boivin, Fleury, Mallory and Dan showed up at Target. We all hung out after I got out of work. We went to Boivin's house... where Mallory continually insisted we watch One Night In China, while Fleury talked about pampcakes and while Jeff came up with fun games like "EVERYONE go into a different room in the house and throw a temper tantrum!" and surely we did. And I had never had more fun than doing that.
The night ended with us minus Mallory and Dan, sitting in the Triple A diner, listening to warped music on the little jukebox in our booth. It was pretty awesome.
Fluery and Dave on the ride to the diner.
Boivin peeking up from his menu.
(movie screenshot)
Dave, while we listened to Police. Yeahh!
Fluery saying how it felt like we were having a family dinner.
Jeff proposing we listen to Lou Bega's... second song.
And then there was today.
And well... I'm all caught up.
I'm trying to take my camera out with me more.
So I can be annoying and continue documenting life through JPEGs.
I'm waiting for something good to happen.
It better happen SOON!
I'm sorry I get so technical with these entries.
I do it for sentimental purposes, I could care less wether you enjoyed reading this or not!
(That's why I put pictures, so you can just enjoy those)...
