Today marks three years since my Grandma Luke passed away.
Her struggle with metobolic brain cancer took her life away on January 11, 2003.
No words can express how much she meant to.
When she was diagnosed with the cancer and moved into an assistant living home in Charlotte, my dad came upon a company called Life Gems. This company extracts the carbon from existing cremated remains and makes diamonds out of the carbon. When my Grandma Luke passed my dad went through with his desire to make a lasting memory of his mother and one for me and my sister. My sister and I were told when we were old enough we would be able to have ours set in a ring. This Christmas my dad gave me the box with my blue diamond in it, my Grandma Luke. And today on the third year of her death, my ring was finished. I forever will have the memory of my Grandma sparkling everyday, a constant reminder and a lasting memory.
(Thats my mom's finger. My parents are afraid to send it to me so I have to wait till I can go home or they can come here.)
