I know what you mean about JB. He looks skinny in the episodes too. Though to be fair, Jack has sort of been through the emotional wringer after CoE. Though not as much as here!
Excellent chapter, as per usual. I didn't anticipate Gwen remembering the cell scene, as I myself had sort of forgotten it. Nice touch! Loved everything in this chapter, as always!
Point of clarification: didn't the Master specify 'no more rape' in his offer to jack? I would think that would clue the girls in, at least a little.

Ah. You are right. He does say that, so they would realise. Oops (flounders a bit). I'll have to build that in to the next chapter.

Maybe, with all the emotional upset, Owen has forgotten that the Master said that. It would not have been a surprise for him after all. So he does not realise that the girls would know.

It's a shame that JB is so thin, for me at least. I liked him better physically as he was in Torchwood than when he was so thin with the 9th Doctor.

Happy!! You have updated!!! :D
True, JB is too much slim in Torchwood 4, but in the doctorate pics they have uploaded today he seems as wonderful as ever. He was tweeting last night and he said he had a cold, but his sense of humor was the same. Adorable.
I don't know when I will be able to watch the new series, I am from Spain, but I don't want spoilers either. I'll try to be very careful.
I am absolutely stuck on your story. Thanks!

Thanks. Sorry it's so long between posts. I am updating as soon as I finish writing a chapter.

Brilliant start to day .. a new chapter. Yes JB does look thin in the poster but in the few promos i have seen he looks okay.
You are so lucky ot be able to see MD we in NZ wont' get this for months and months.

I am impressed by Owen's leader ship. Right now he is keeping his calm while the otehrs are on the 'emotional precipice; And depsite the horror of this the need to work together to find Jack. Who as i suspected is on an emotional precipice himself.

I re-read part one recently and Ianto's words acttually hurt Jack more that the torture so his dream was fasinating that it reflects that.

As for Gwen I recall her thoughts in the first chapters - where she still thought that regardless of the torture he got what he deserved becuase he had worked for the Master. Great that she now understands his actions now she has to live with the reality she alone could have saved Jack from his memories.

Wonderful Chapter

Thanks.

Yes, Owen is keeping calm during all this. He isn't as emotionally involved as the others.

I am confusing myself on Gwen's attitude! Yes, before seeing this deal Gwen thought that the torture would have excused Jack working for the Master except that Jack had gone somehow from being the Master's victim to being his willing assistant and lover. So yes, she still thought he should have gone to trial. Now she is realising that Jack was probably never willing.

this chapter is very interesting, both for Ianto's suffering and also for Gwen and Tosh finding out the secret. As glad as i am that Tosh is asserting herself, I still have trouble believing that Gwen would have allowed herself to believe completely all the lies Jack was forced to tell.

I have a tentative theory for why the team believed so easily. It will be in the next chapter. But it's up to the reader to choose if they believe it or not.

Owen should have realized the girls would have to find out for themselves what it was that had affected Ianto so badly. It's good that they all know now why Jack did what he did and why they were all spared by the Master.

Gwen will have to live with the fact that she could have saved Jack and didn't. Jack was just too convincing in his act to change her mind and make her see it for what it was. I think once his shiny armor was tarnished, she became too disillusioned to believe there was anything good left in Jack. She sees only black and white, good or evil. There is no in between for her.

Yes, they now understand and are fully motivated to help him, quickly!

I think Ianto or Owen would have done the same as Gwen. Only Tosh may have let him get off the Valiant.
