I can’t write a poem
My hand won’t listen to my brains beckoning
They refuse to cooperate too occupied with caressing the forgotten ribbon
My heart denies me the ability to compose words
It is heavy with sadness
Weighing down my pen ceasing its dance across my paper
As my eyes are damp with tears
My vision is blurred and all I can see is memories we shared
I have forgotten words
The knowledge has escaped me as a butterfly does from its cocoon
Someday soon
I shall remember the power of written words
But now all I can achieve is this broken verse
