So, when L had congestive heart failure (CHF) & cardiac bypass surgery & got an arterial stent last year, it was obvious that there would be more procedures in the future - many more, if we are lucky. As far as I'm concerned L never really recovered from the cardiac bypass but we kept getting reassured by his doctors that, well, it takes 6 months to really recover from the surgical trauma... well, takes a year or more before you really feel like you did before the surgery... well, some of L's patients tell him they still hurt & feel like crap two or more years after bypass surgery. So he kept plugging on, tho' it's been pretty apparent to me for months that he wasn't getting any better; in fact he was getting more debilitated.
No surprise, on Tuesday L was actually diagnosed as being back in CHF. Thankfully it doesn't seem he's had another heart attack. He's having another angiocath tomorrow & with luck, they will find blockage(s) that can be stented & he'll get better. I'm not particularly scared about tomorrow-he's had 3 angiocaths & 2 stents without complications-but my heart hurts for our future. This has happened sooner than even I expected, & I'm by far the most pessimistic (realistic?) one in the family.
*sigh* I don't mean to borrow trouble; it's just the way I'm made.
Well, we hope to be back home by Saturday night. (Of course L & his boss expect he'll be back to work first thing Monday morning. >:-/ ) If anyone wants to try calling on Sunday he may or may not be up for talking; but I'll talk with you!
