I'm doing custom cartoons & poems to raise $$ to attend writers' conferences!

Oct 18, 2010 19:01

I'm starting to save up funds for two writers' conferences (SCBWI Winter & Summer Conferences in New York & L.A.) I plan to attend next year, and am looking for ways to help pay for transportation, hotel, fees, meals, etc. Not to mention all the books I know I'll have to buy from the SCBWI bookshop after hearing all the inspirational talks and workshops.

So....I'm re-opening my Etsy shop! Unfortunately I lack the time to do many hand-painted pieces these days, but I -am- taking on custom cartoon projects. The image at the top of this entry is one I did last year for a client who wanted a unique housewarming gift. She printed this image out, framed it, and presented it to the couple. :-)

My custom cartoons can also be used for greeting cards, wedding invitations, custom stationery, user icons, website graphics, etc. NO PROJECT IS TOO SMALL. Prices range from $20 and up. For more info, please visit my Etsy shop:

CUSTOM POEMS SENT BY SNAILMAIL:
================================

I'm also happy to do custom rhyming & non-rhyming poems! Yes, YOU TOO can send a goofy or touching poem to someone you adore (friends or family, boss or employee, favorite bookstore owner, your dentist, etc.). Prices range from $10 and up, depending on the level of goofiness and length of poem. BONUS: I will write out your custom made poem by HAND, making it clear that it was commissioned by you, add a small hand-drawn graphic, and send it by SNAILMAIL. Handwritten snailmail is so rare these days that it's sure to be appreciated.

I need to write up an entertaining listing for my Etsy shop for these custom poems, but am still open to taking on assignments before I do.

**** Make sure you use a meaningful subject header like "Custom poem," thanks!
