So I was walking to the library to write my weekly 10 page lab report (which I'm avoiding right now with livejournal.) I had just spoken to melissa one the phone who said she'd call me later because she couldnt hold her silk screening supplies and the phone at the same time. I then passed two young girls in black pants and pointy shoes with thier hair pulled back. Business students. They probably own 5 pairs of the same pants while I have one pair of black pants that dont even fit. I then passed two windows. In the first room was a boy with long surfer hair working on some multimedia thing. I just learned how to use a mac last semester in my undergrad research position... i still have trouble copying and pasting. in the next window was a big boy with red hair and a plaid shirt practicing the cello, all by himself. as i was walking to the door of the library i almost ran into an old hunchback man with a backpack and a combover as he was leaving. the amount of old people at this school is astonishing. i have two classmates over 50 in my organic chemistry class. i think they look so silly when they raise their hands. so anyway..i walked up the 6 flights to the 3rd floor and i saw alex sitting in the sofa seat with his mohawk flopped over becuase he wore a hat all day. he was reading a book about the economy of china or something like that. he had highlighter on his face but i didnt tell him...it was pink.
its crazzyyyy to me how dedicated these people at cmu are. dedicated to soo many different things. laurel is at the studio until at least 3 am every night and her fingernails are permanently stained black from charcoal. katie white has three different suits and is in 3 differnt clubs jsut to practice her speaking and leadership skills. Abby is a double decision science and spanish major. sam already works in the children's school researching them with a post doc. even within my own major, the kids who i have everyclass with, they are so different. corey wants to be a pediatrician. i myself want to be a neuropsychiatrist or maybe even do into oncology. jon wants to manage a biomedical company, so he is a bio major with a business minor while tyler wants to be a dentist. there are also a few kids i know who jsut strictly want to do research and work in a lab all their life. natilie already works in a bio lab 20 hours a week and cut her course load to 3 classes so she could do so.
i just think its sooooo crazy how different people are. or maybe im just reaalllyyyy putting off this report. yeahhh
