This is the biggest and best batch of Mumbai pictures!
I do not like coconut water, I discovered.
Juhu Beach!
Spicey corn on the cob!! <3
(the only street food we had)
GUYS, GUYS, GUYS.
I WENT TO SHAHRUKHS HOUSE.
THIS IS ME, TOUCHING SHAHRUKH'S HOUSE. WHEN HE WAS HOME!!
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
In case you don't know anything about the Indian film industry... this is Shahrukh in one of my favorite videos, Marjaani from Billu Barber with Kareena Kapoor:

SO EXCITE!!!
View from his house.
Rickshaws, taxis, buses... constant stream of people trying to catch a glimpse!
I was definitely not the only one getting pictures!
Sometimes Shahrukh comes out and climbs up that metal gate thing to say hi to his fans. Didn't while we were there, sadly! ;_;
People waiting to see if he came out.
No littering sign in india... LOLOLOLOL.
(but really they need a massive campaign like we had here in the 70s or so.)
And now... THE BACHCHAN'S HOUSE!!
Home of Amitabh, his wife Jaya, their son Abhishek... and Aishwarya, who you probably have seen/heard of. Oh, and their new baby! Here is a video of all but Jaya from Bunty Aur Babli, years before Aish & Abhi started dating.

More people watching. RIGHT when we got there we saw a car go in the driveway, and i think the gaurd said that was them!
And now... Mukesh Ambani's BILLION DOLLAR, 27-storey home!!
Most expensive home in the world
A street over. Lol.
Me + Anu (host) + the woman from San Francisco she hosted when we went to the intercontinental! She quit her financial job and is now traveling the world. :)
We had to get off the Rickshaw and walk around these winding roads. There were no street names or anything.
Our masseuses in the news!
Mumbai reminded me of China in that there were advertisements for new residential buildings EVERYWHERE.
After the massage we went with Anu to her weekly spiritual meetings with a channeler. From 14 to about 22 (now i just never get around to it) i used to be highly involved in an American channeling group. It's pretty big and i went to many events and got to know the channeler & his wife pretty well, I was the youngest member for a long time so that got me some attention. They were fabulous people. I was never completely sold as to whether it was real or not (my brain, obviously, always scoffed at the idea) but the only important thing is that the messages were very good and really helped make me into the person I am today. One critique you could give the messages is it's basically just almost hedonistic buddhism.. so it was interesting to see that here, in the land of buddhism, the channeler was talking about the exact same thing and it was very familiar and nostalgic in the best way. This was his house. It was lined in marble (to be fair, marble is EVERYWHERE in India. It's ubiquitous) and full of antique furniture (inherited) and just felt very fancy. But that's the benefit of being from a culture where families actually collect things and pass it down...
His garden was cute.
Back in Bandra
Our second host lived around here. Everyone in the city knows about "The KFC" so it was easy to navigate with drivers.
With our second host, a medical student in a fancy hospital downtown. He was nice, while his roomate was a very aggressive flirter (even when i told him T&I were dating!) which made me glad Thomas was there (he was actually cute but just coming on way too strong). We actually went to the intercontinental BECAUSE I was having trouble getting hooked up with these guys. We couldn't get there until 8 and we were out so far with Anu and so tired by nighttime we just decided to get a hotel.. which ended up 2 nights long until we finally met up with them.
And one night we came home to this, they were out partying until 1am. and we had to go eat gellato (onoes) until they got home...
From the Intercontinental, straight to...... this.
lololol.
I loved these, wish i could have had copies! Each was on a different neighborhood.
Across the street from host #2. We had gellato here several times.
Haji Ali Dargah. You can only get there at low tide.
Running across the street to get to the mall.
Anu was trying to get a birthday ipod for one of her house helpers.
