1st and 2nd day of CNY
drove up to JB for reunion dinner with ekk's father side. was my first time joining their family. his grandma was really sweet and kept feeding me more dishes to eat. after dinner, we all played fireworks. those little sparkles and those big rocket ones. those you see only on national day or nye parties done by the government. but in malaysia, everyone can buy and play it. it's so cool. the sparks were soo bright, loud and near. they felt like they were falling all over me and i would be burnt to death. what a cool experience to see the whole neighbourhood playing once it hit midnight. the sight was beautiful. very soon, police cars were going around trying to collect money in terms of bribery. im actually confused if it's legal or illegal now. was ttrying to video the police car and the whole bribery process till the policeman caught me and told me off. i was panicking then. wahahhaa.
first day of cny this year happened to be valentine's day too. ekka came with my family for visiting this year. first time ever for him to be back in spore with me during first few days of cny. after visiting, we celebrated valentine's day by watching the movie valentine's day. lol. how cliche but there was nothing much to do and most places were closed.
when we got out of the cinema, the smell was kfc was soooo strong and i couldnt resist it. we ended up having 2 ultimate value boxes from kfc for our vday dinner. ekka felt it was really funny especially cause we were all dressed up but ended up eating kfc outside the cinema. i love love love kfc. used to eat them almost every week. infact, i had it for dinner today. yummy.
after kfc, we headed down to holland village 2am desser bar for some romantic time. the place was disappointing. not what me and ekka expected. the desserts were not bad and they gave me a stalk of rose!! yayyyy.
2nd day of cny was spent visiting my uncle's place for lunch and then to ek's place to pack up all his belongings cause he was leaving the next morning at 7am. we wanted to have one last nice romantic dinner together but most places we called up were close or fullhouse. we ended up at clarke quay along the river for french dining. we are never a fan of french dining so it was always out of our list. but i wanted to give foie gras another chance since most people i know love it to death.
then, we headed to resort world to check it out. was expecting to take pictures everywhere to capture the beauty of resort world. but the whole surrounding was soooooo ugly and very cheap looking. it was crowded but there was really nothing to look at. parking is a killer too. the only picture worthy gotta be the universal studios globe and the hard rock cafe lift!
after that, we headed over to kenny's house for poker and mah jong. and then we headed to zouk for some happy moments before heading to the airport. everyone's not dressed in cny colours except me and ekka. we are so red and pink!! lol
