I'm not an idiot.
I know when I am being taken advantage of.
When I care about someone I will do just about anything to make them feel good, and most of the time I know just what will do the trick. I do these things because I thoroughly enjoy seeing my friends happy. To put it simply, I do these things because doing them makes ME happy. I am not, however, blind to blatant abuse of kindness. I have plenty of friends that have taken advantage of my kindness and taken it for granted. I usually try to be understanding, but after it happens multiple times I find myself checking his or her name off of my list of close pals. Friends- the real friends- don't take advantage of each other, and I don't need people abusing my love. This is how I distinguish the people I love from the people I like.
I try to give everyone a chance, but I am not naive.
I enjoy people too much to let them suffer.
