Let's recap the news in GACKT-land...
♥News♥
It was announced today that a new song by GACKT called 「罪の継承～ORIGINAL SIN～」 (Tsumi no Keishou～ORIGINAL SIN～) will be the ending theme for the anime 'TRICKSTER'. GACKT currently provides the opening theme, "Kimi dake no boku de iru kara", but it's quite usual for animes to change the opening and ending themes halfway through their run, and that's what is happening here. The change from GACKT having the opening theme, to having the ending theme, happens as of January 9th.
You can hear a clip of the song starting at 1:26 in this video. There's also a fair amount of voice acting by GACKT, starting at 0:36.
The single is due to be released on March 22nd.

It has been decided that the 'GACKT WORLD TOUR 2016 LAST VISUALIVE Saigo no Tsuki -LAST MOON-' tour final DVD and Blu-ray will be sold exclusively via Loppi [machines you can find at Lawson convenience stores] and HMV!
The special edition has a behind the scenes documentary, and a commentary track from GACKT, the band and dancers!! [plus a booklet and special packaging]
Advance reservations are being taken until February 14th, 2017.
The special gift for reserving during this time is a Secrets of Yoshitsune postcard.
The premium edition Blu-ray is 18,000 yen (tax included)
The premium edition DVD is 15,000 yen (tax included)
The regular edition Blu-ray is 9,000 yen (tax included)
The regular edition DVD is 7,001 yen (tax included)
Delivery date is Tuesday, March 14th

GACKT's next music video will be a cover of Ayumi Hamasaki's 'SEASONS'.
This has been produced in collaboration with Nescafe Dolce Gusto, to celebrate sales of over 2,000,000 machines.
The music video will be available on Nestle Japan's official YouTube account from midnight, January 1st, 2017.
Here is a message from GACKT about the collaboration. There is also a sneak peak at the MV at the end of the video (yes, it looks like a coffee ad).
And here is the Making Of video. Keep watching until the end, as GACKT treats us to a spot of acapella singing (and also keep an eye out for what appears to be GACKT's phone wallpaper...)

GACKT had his single guys only, no women, Christmas live and talk event this week.

He performed "Yuki no Hana" "Mikazuki", "Last Song" and "12 Gatsu no Love Song."

Video streaming site SHOWROOM had an event to celebrate its third anniversary. It was a live, continuous 24 hour broadcast, and GACKT was a guest about 3 hours in, at midnight on the 25th (going into the 26th). GACKT's appearance was filmed at his house in Tokyo, and as it was a continuous broadcast, that meant that the camera crew filmed the broadcast's host, Akihiro Nishino, en route to meet GACKT. The lengths they went to so as to not give any hints to where GACKT's house is were quite entertaining, as the van Nishino travelled in had curtains covering the windows, and when the Nishino and crew left the vehicle to walk into GACKT's house, the camera was pointed only at the floor.

As mentioned before, GACKT was in Tokyo to film some final scenes for the movie Karanukan. GACKT's character in the movie is a photographer, and some of these Tokyo scenes involved him acting out filming a photoshoot. So, photographer Tenmei Kano gave GACKT some advice on how to act like a professional photographer, and shared some photos from the filming to his Facebook.

On the 23rd, GACKT, TAKUMI and Val attended an office end of year party. GACKT posted some photos from this on his Instagram and Weibo, which you can see later in this post. Talent Asami Kumakiri posted a cute video with GACKT.

The next batch of Gakucchis hit amusement arcades on the 28th. This time, if you put 500 yen in the crane machines, you can get a shopping bag as a free gift! Make sure you call a member of staff over so they can see you put the 500 yen in, and then you'll get the bag as long as stocks last.

YOU was working with S.Q.F. again this week. On the 23rd, YOU and singer michi. were guests on a radio show. The 24th saw S.Q.F.'s Christmas show and Chacha was a special guest at the show. Chacha joined the band to perform a cover of John Lennon's "Happy Xmas" and shared vocal duties with michi. Sato was also there to watch and offer support.

I'm back in Japan now. I have a X'mas special program only for men tonight. Well, I have no idea how the show is going to be...
I had a show only for men last night. It was fun time for me.
We have a X'mas party now with some friends. So funny!!
Yesterday I met Ryuhei Kitamura. He is my favorite director. We hope to work together in Hollywood next year!!

GACKT arrived in Japan, but liked the view of Malaysia that he saw from the plane on his way. He spoke about being 43, the importance of experience and that he wants to become sexier and dandier in the future.

First, recording for TRICKSTER. This is the first time GACKT has recorded his parts at the same time as the other actors - his schedule doesn't usually allow for this. Then, GACKT and a couple of his dancers killed their stomachs with spice.

GACKT met director Ryuhei Kitamura, and got his hair cut.
GACKT went to a Christmas party held by Louis XIII brandy. He also received a ticket to see the John Malkovich movie "100 Years: The Movie You Will Never See", which is due to premier on November 18th, 2115 [yes, that's right. For more information, check the Wikipedia entry]
