[Report] GACKT's 42nd BIRTHDAY PARTY

Jul 07, 2015 00:16

Although this was a fanclub members limited event, it wasn't like the Yasoukai where they make you sign a disclaimer saying you won't talk about it online and confiscate your phones, so talking about it is okay this time!

This is ridiculously long, especially for the lunch part, so I apologise!

having people sign a disclaimer saying they won't talk about what happens makes me really want to know what happened.
I've not heard of fanclub stuff doing that before though? Has anyone else?

ohhhhhh that food looks good :o
And wow, that's great! I just got a friend into Gackt, and we got through RRI and II, and just started moon-saga stuff. I've never managed to figure out what all was going on between all of the stories, so that's helpful.
I hope he releases something on those before the last visualive, because I would love a comprehensive story on everything.

Poor Hayato though, that's really, really sad. :(

That sounds like so much fun, I'm glad you got to go, and thank you for the report! <3

They do it every year with the Yasoukai (the fanclub trip abroad), I've signed them myself! That's why there's never any photos or information floating around about it.

Yeah, I hope that he will fill in the blanks and do a... Gackipedia... on the Moon Saga, um, saga. Heh, what a terrible sentence.

Mmm, I think I've only seen bands/people do that if they were filming/releasing stuff themselves later, but I guess that's to keep the fanclub stuff fanclub only. ^^

Moonpedia. We need one! The story seems really interesting, but I can not follow it for the life of me.

When GACKT first had the original ideas for Moon, I wonder how much of the rest of it was fully formed or if he just wanted to do something cool with vampires and didn't think past that. I mean, Yoshitsune and the monofu have taken it in a different direction (well, from a different beginning I guess) so I wonder how much was planned and how much is just him adding stuff as the years go by. It would explain why it's a little convoluted in places.

Thanks for remembering so much of this affair; I can't believe how complex it was.

The DIABOLOS character is Alucard? Even though the cover art for that album looks like Sephiroth and GACKT is clearly cosplaying Symphony of the Night Alucard in the video for Miserable? LOL Priceless.

Thanks for the report!

I just had to Google what you were talking about because I know nothing about the Castlevania series... oops. The story of the Castlevania Alucard isn't a million miles away from the story of the DIABOLOS one really, although I don't know if the similarities are intentional or if GACKT just picked what he thought was a cool sounding name.

I think it's a combination of both. Besides the "Miserable" video, he's referenced the game quite clearly before, albeit in Malice Mizer. Symphony of the Night's Japanese title was 月下の夜想曲, which is also a MM song on merveilles. And the title track on that album sounds remarkably like the first minute of gameplay, when Alucard is running through the forest and all you hear are sound effects (wind, lightning, rain, wolves howling, the drawbridge creaking). The only thing on the track "merveilles" that would be out of place in the Symphony of the Night opening is the telephone ringing.

I didn't know any of that either, hahaha. I guess I'll have to go and watch the Game Center videos were he played Castlevania now to see what he said about it. Despite posting all of them, I only actually watched about half of his gaming videos, oops.
