On February 11th, a release event was held at Shibuya's Aiia Theater for GACKT's 44th single 'P.S. I LOVE U'. GACKT's honest words made the 700 fans in attendance cry.
The conception and writing of the song took over six months. The lyrics caused many troubles and were rewritten multiple times. GACKT himself said of this song “I want this to be received as my life's work”. GACKT encountered many episodes during the making of 'P.S. I LOVE U' that were a part of the 'Namidakatsu Project' [literally life tears project], originally started by Hiroki Terai. These were introduced to the fans via places such as GACKT's Official Facebook and people were asked to share their opinions.
The contents of the episodes shown at this event made everyone present think deeply about 'how to fully show your love'. On GACKT's Official Facebook over the course of 4 days, nearly 10,000 fans spoke from the heart on wide ranging topics prompted by these episodes and GACKT's messages, all on the theme of 'life's end' (= people facing the end of their life).
When seeing these responses, GACKT said “I want to answer the comments of the fans” and quickly, this event was arranged.
After the fan comments had been introduced at the event, attention was turned to GACKT's own personal story. Taking the cue of the event's theme of 'words to leave to loved ones', for the first time, GACKT's regular visit to the grave and family home of the late Kami (MALICE MIZER member) on the anniversaries of his birthday and death was shown to the public. GACKT said of Kami's death that he “had still not come to terms with it” as tears could be seen.
Following GACKT's confession, the last thing showed to the audience was the music video of the song GACKT calls his “life's work”. By the end of the video, the audience were crying.

The
staff blog has updated today also. It doesn't say much, it just talks about the renewal of the site, revival of YOU's blog and talks a little about P.S. I LOVE U.
GACKT will be appearing on Ousama no Brunch (King's Brunch) again on Saturday, 2/15. The show is on TBS from 9:30 - 14:00.
It's nice to have multiple things to post about again, even if they are kinda sad. It's been a bit of a ghost town these past few months!
