I'm just like "what the actual fuck" right now.
I'm not even much in the Gackt fandom at all anymore (I've never been much of a fan but I used to like him; lately I just don't really care anymore, but he's still an artist I respect and I follow this comm to keep myself at least the tiniest bit updated), but I'm just like... huh. What. What is happening.
All of this sounds like Gackt's career is over and five billion things happened and he's a criminal and his life is over and done with. What. I don't get it. A child in Canada, him moving to Malaysia or China, his girlfriend, his concert venues not selling out, issues with donations, what.

I'll prolly just pretend I never read this article and guess/hope his career is as okay as it's always been, despite him saying this "last visualive" thing during his concert in July.
Rumours can be so scary. And they are weirding me out.

Well, this article has accumulated over a year. Some of the rumours it talks about first surfaced last summer and they've gradually snowballed and been added onto until this mess happened. Other than him changing companies, none of this is confirmed or has any evidence. And it's been a year of this. But, GACKT hasn't publicly and forcefully denied it so it keeps rumbling along...

I guess if you haven't seen the stories along the way it really does sound awful. To the rest of us who have seen the previous stories, it's more a case of "ugh, this again?" At least the cup ramen thing and Malaysia thing is new.

Ah, yeah, I really don't follow the news usually so the whole article kinda hit me in the face; I didn't hear about anything of it ever before. The only thing I did read about was this scandal thing where a hostess claimed Gackt had raped her but besides that... And yeah, it all sounds pretty awful.

I don't quite get it though why people would make up so much crap about him. I usually perceived Japanese press to be a little less rude and awful (compared to other countries, say, the US), and I don't know any other J-artist people keep on talking as bad about as they do about Gackt. Like there's something special about him that makes people want to make life especially hard for him or something. I feel sorry for him. /sigh

The Japanese press can be vicious, they just tend to stay away from a lot of the artists that get international fans and recognition so it doesn't get picked up as much by foreign fans. They don't target Arashi, for example (other than the occasional Sho is grumpy story), or any of the Visual Kei bands that the average person in Japan doesn't care about. But yeah, GACKT does seem to get it worse than most. It comes in cycles with him but he's been getting a kicking from them for years.

"The Japanese press can be vicious, they just tend to stay away from a lot of the artists that get international fans and recognition so it doesn't get picked up as much by foreign fans. They don't target Arashi, for example" which is weird, though, because GACKT has a lot of foreign fans too, as if they don't know about it.
