[news] GACKT to appear at the Kenshin Kousai!

Today, it was announced by Joetsu City, that GACKT will reprise his role as Uesugi Kenshin for the city's 88th Kenshin Kousai. The event will be held on August 24th and 25th.

It has been two years since GACKT last appeared at the event and this will be his fifth appearance (2007, 2008, 2010, 2011 and now 2013). There was no guest at the show last year, but as a new shinkansen service has opened, they wanted to attract people from across Japan back to Joetsu, so they decided to invite a guest.

In previous years the festival has attracted 240,000 people. They hope that over 200,000 people will attend the festival this year also.

GACKT will appear on August 25th only. He will lead a procession through the streets and following that he will take part in a re-enactment of the Battle of Kawanakajima.
