[GACKTOLOGY] 24 GACKT FASHION TRENDS
I put together 24 fashion trends Gackt has gone through over the years.

01. Circle Lenses → Gackt is known for his contacts (which he is even now selling), mostly shades of blue and grey.
02. Leather Pants → At the beginning of Gackt’s solo career, you rarely saw him out of leather pants. Sadly over the last few years, he has been wearing less leather (but still tight enough pants, nevertheless. There’s still hope).
03. Leather Jackets → Along with his leather pants, Gackt had also been quite fond of leather jackets over different colors (black, white and brown mostly).
04. DARTS Jewelry → Gackt most of the time still wears his onyx and six gem bracelets (except during training and YFC). He had gone through many jewelry trends, such as his dagger bracelet earrings and many different necklaces.
05. Floral Shirts → For some strange reason, for a while (from about the beginning of his solo to about 2005), Gackt had an obsession with floral shirts. Many different kinds of floral shirts. Nothing says manly quite like floral shirts.
06. Hexagon Shoes → Another obsession Gackt had for a while was ‘hexagon shoes’, due to their shape. Always saw these types of shoes in different colors on him as well.
07. Huge Jackets→ Whether it was fur or leather, Gackt from time to time likes to wear out his huge pimp type jackets to, of course, look pimp.
08. Cat Suit → Not really sure what Gackt was on at the time when he came up with giant dancing cats, but this certain cat suit has stuck with him from the beginning to the present through nearly every concert. Must be the nyah nyah powers.
09. Sunglasses → Gackt has tons of sunglasses, to the point that it is nearly frustrating (especially during interviews or shows). Every few months, Gackt has some kind of new sunglasses style. Guess his eyes are forever sensitive.
10. Tank Tops → For a while, under every flimsy shirt, Gackt was wearing a tank top underneath it. No one is complaining there.
11. Heeled Shoes → You nearly never see Gackt without heels, even when he had those hexagon shoes. In fact, I don’t think he wears anything but heeled shoes if he’s not working out or in a kimono.
12. Suit Jackets → After the leather jacket phase, Gackt had a habit of wearing suit jackets (or similar to it) over his shirts.
13. Red Socks → Around 2009, Gackt was showing up all over the place with bright red socks, even when they didn’t match his outfits. Why he had such an obsession with these red rocks is a mystery.
14. Rolled Up/Capri Pants → When Gackt is seen training, he’s usually training in rolled up or capri pants. For YFC, he wears capri pants and now has a habit rolling up his pants (Platinum Box XII). Might as well show off the legs he works out, right?
15. School Boy Uniforms → It started for a Platinum Box and became a yearly trend for Gackt. School boy uniforms must make his soul feel younger.
16. Kimono → No one can deny that Gackt can rock a kimono. During the Nemuri Project, Gackt was always in a kimono, even when participating as a guest on shows.
17. Scarfs → A short lived trend, but there was a good few months that Gackt was wearing scarfs with all his outfits.
18. Rings on Every Finger → While promoting Setsugekka -The End of Silence-, Gackt had a ring on every finger all the time. His fingers must have weighed a ton.. strong fingers.
19. Tight Shirts → As of lately, Gackt has been wearing skin tight shirts, to the point that there is no point of wearing a shirt, since everything is showing anyway.
20. Shirtless → Speaking of everything showing anyway, not wearing a shirt at all has been a great trend, thanks to YFC.
21. Eyepatches → The eyepatch trend started around when Returner was being promoted, and was then revived for YFC, in a blinged out version.
22. Fedoras→ Fedoras became popular with Gackt in 2010 and stuck with him until his haircut.
23. These Shoes → Gackt’s biggest fashion disaster which he seems to love for the past two years or so. These shoes are a mystery.
24. YFC Sleeveless Shirt and Tie → The YFC style of a white (and Hawaiian for finals) sleeveless collared button up with a tie. I wonder how many of these shirt they went through after ripping them open and throwing them into the crowd..
