Perhaps I'll just post about customer service matters...

This was in response to some racial commentary on Fox News by their staff. I truely have gotten sick of the lack of quality news casting. I very rarely feel like I've learned something of worth from watching most news stations.

Dear Roger Ailes,

For a while I have witnessed a decline in the quality of news casting your station has produced. While I understand that you must "make a buck" and compete with other stations for ratings and viewers (much like the election process), your increased sensationalism has severely jeopardized your integrity.

In regards to this recent offense: Race in America has a constant presence within everyday life despite efforts of many people both publicly known and unknown to make the United States a land of true equal opportunity. When prominent news stations like Fox News reinforces the idea that race is something that distinguishes the character of a person and can be used to judge you are doing an extreme disservice to the future of our country and communities.

There is a lot of news out there when you deem a specific event or person’s statement as worthy of airing on your station you have to take extreme care that it doesn’t reflect upon your own credentials. You have failed in that regard. The fact that there are people out there that share stereotypical and racist sentiments should not traverse the gap from reporting on those people to supporting those sentiments they hold. In the end it is your decision to make Fox News the station that it is. While your race does not reflect your character the quality of your work does. Evaluate what language and the use of stereotypes on your station says about you.

Sincerely,

Sarah Lacey
