kajhf I don't understaaaaand

I think there's this confusion? lumping together? of female sexual power and shitty controlling sex/relationships which is kind of scary. Idk, I just have all the confused feelings.

A reviewer on the feminist-friendly website Jezebel wrote: “Our consensus: the book is pretty ridiculous - for every lashing there's an ‘OMG!’ - but if it's making more women feel comfortable discussing their sexuality, we're all for it.”

SEE I AM SCARED BY THIS. I think it's all fine and dandy for women to finally~ open up about sexuality and for men to stfd about it, but through this book? Really? I mean, just because it's erotica that is being enjoyed by SOME women and inspiring open discussions on sex by many does not make it okay to not criticise the kind of obvious crappy manipulative and dangerous relationship portrayed in the book.

It's like when Twilight is said to be about female desire/sexuality and things (which, lbr, I kind of agree with, but am not convinced that Meyer intentionally put it in as an intellectual discussion).

Women talking more about teh sex? Good. Reading this book and thinking that that makes for a fulfilling relationship? Not, imo.

also fuck that all women are being lumped into a group that likes this series. and the fact that it's being labelled as 'mommy porn' kind of freaks me out because that just sounds wrong.

all the rage wtaf world
