I'm not gonna waste these words,
about a girl.

12 midnight - you've been busy with so much lately, its the time you get home on normal days now. Meetings with the management, organising rehersals, programmes for your upcoming album - its been both hetic and tiring. You press in the combination on the keypad, before turning the key in the lock. A small click emits and you push your way into the darkened apartment quietly - the other four should be asleep by now, and you don't want to wake them.
You pull off your sweater, dumping it onto the dining table before making your way into your shared room, quietly. You wouldn't want to wake him. You shut the door behind you, and rub your neck tiredly before turning to face your bed, expecting, expecting to see him already sound asleep, curled up under the sheets. But, your gaze falls on nothing, nothing but wrinkled bed linen and empty space.
You feel your eyebrows raise as you move forward nervously. You panic, fear rising in your throat ( a reflex reaction ) as your head turns, gaze darting frantically around the room. It falls on curtains that dance out, billowing slightly and you relax, your shoulder's sagging as you make your way, footsteps soft towards the balcony.
It is his back you see, hunched up, sitting on the tiled floor, his hands hugging his knees to his chest as you step past the dark coloured drapes that hide your room from the outside World, and your heart twists in your chest. Could it be, again?
He has always been the more insercure of the both of you, and you can understand why - with everything he went through, he is really not to blame.
You crouch, your hands winding around his waist, and oh - how fragile he seems at this moment, especially at this moment, and you pull him into your lap. He tenses at first touch, but relaxes, when he realises it is you. His hands wind around your neck as he burries his face in your shoulder - like the child he really is deep inside, and you only feel your arms curling even more protectively around him.
Could it be? It has to be. Him, thinking about her again. The girl who had broken his heart almost two years ago. The girl that had caused him so much pain, the girl who had caused him to cease eating, to cease laughing, to see smiling. No one knew about it, only you and the other 3 did. But, what no one really know was how much it had still hurt him, even at present. He would smile and laugh, in front of cameras, fans, the other members, but when the both of you were alone, you would see him cry, you would see him break, you saw what everyone else never saw ; his weakness.
You had always been there for him, sitting with him as he cried, listening to his muses, or even his silences, you had held him, lent him your shoulder to cry on, and unknowingly, you both had begun a relationship beyond friendship, and yet - he had never spoken those three words to you. He would hug you, kiss you, care for you. But you knew, you just knew - he wasn't over her.
It was clear, from the way you often caught him staring into space, sitting by himself - it had been two years, and yet he still thought of her.
It hurt you, because it hurt him, not because you weren't the sole one in his life, but because everytime he cried, it made you hurt.
You felt a warm dampness press into your shoulder, and you hugged him, held him tighter. Tighter as he started to shake. You started to hum, your voice a comfoting song, shushing him, trying to, wishingto take away his pain, wishing to ease the burden you knew you never could. It was with a shift that he moved, sliding himself back in your arms, as his face came to face yours.
It was a sight that shocked you, his tear stricken face, dazzled with a smile. His response was fast, flowing out, softly, from his mouth before you could react.
"I love you." his words were a whisper, pushing your shock, turning it into astonishment. You opened your mouth to speak, and yet he silenced you, the warm skin of his forehead pressing against yours. Lips pressing towards yours, skimming against them briefly, he pulled away again, his gaze bearing, focusing into yours.
And then, you knew.
It was over.
I'm not gonna waste these words,
about a girl.
