I love David Lynch so hard
David Lynch is not vegan. But I love him anyway. Has anyone seen "Inland Empire"? I'm not bothering to get my hopes up about it coming here.
Maybe people have different dream styles, and so others would disagree, but I think DL captures the essence of the dream world better than anyone else in film or even literature. I don't know why I find that so attractive; I'm not one of those dream interpret-y kind of people, though I am often amused by the bizarre content of my own dreams. Maybe it's because his style seems so similar to magical realism, which I love and has influenced my own writing to a degree, that I enjoy DL so much. I think it's also the beautiful saturated color his films have; I'm a sucker for lush color. Did anyone see the recent version of "The Omen"? Kind of sucked as a movie, but man, it was excellent to look at. Anyway, now I'm off track. Can you tell I know nothing about film theory? I wonder if that would enhance or detract from my enjoyment of David Lynch. I'm not sure I want to risk finding out.
