[It's so good to be back in his body. Joshua is back with his usual expression on his face, and there'll be no more scary giggling as Naoya.]That was quite the experience. My question is directed mainly at those who've been here longer. Have you noticed any pattern at the timing of these curses? For example, do most happen at the beginning of a

[ Mmm, quietly to himself... ] I believe you and I need to chat in private, Kiryuu.
[ There are noises--and... ] ... Yoshiya. What did you do with my clothes?
Reply
[A subtle head tilt.] Where would you like for us to chat, then?
[Innocent look! ...Oh, wait.] Now I know I'm in trouble if you're using my first name. I didn't burn them. They're either in the closet or in the wash, I don't really remember.
[Liar. He remembers. They're in the wash.]

... The curses didn't start until we had quite a few foreigners here, though. I've been here since the beginning.
[ That time Hiroki got catears, however... man that was HILARIOUS. Kitten of Bel. He lol'd for like... days. ]
Mm, I really don't care where--there's a café in the Middle district that's quite nice, actually.
[ 8| He really REALLY LIKED THAT HAORI OKAY? But, at least he has his COMP back. Yoshiya has his phone. All is right with the world. ] ... My haori is fine. It's the geta that concerns me, Yoshiya. Why is it I cannot find them?

There probably weren't enough for a big impact, perhaps?
Then let's meet there. When?
[Joshua is really happy his phone is back. So scary, Naoya! Scary, scary! He holds up both hands in 'surrender,' expression infuriatingly amused. Little mink.] Oh, the geta. They're...probably in a couch. The attic was too dusty.

[ jfkghldjfhg PISSY NAOYA IS PISSY. In other words, I hear that Vatheon is underwater. All is right with the world. ]
... Yoshiya-san, some of us have respect for traditional clothing. But out of curiosity, I think I'll decide not to strangle you and I will instead help you, because I'm in a very giving mood, and mostly because I don't feel like getting punched in the face by that barista again. Even if you are not, technically, an angel, I am quite certain my killing you if it were possible is also included in his "off-limits" list.
As much as this saddens me.

[And Joshua is...Joshua. The universe is intact. Then, he pauses...and smirks in amusement.]
You must have really made him mad if it resulted in a punch. If you give me directions to this cafe, I'll meet you there shortly.
It gladdens me.
[No talking about Composer stuff over the air.]

[ Just... this look. Which really says EVERYTHING. There is a very good reason he hates divinity, Joshua, and I am fairly sure you got a nice, long dose of that all week. Naoya is like a hate machine.
But he will be nice and tell you the directions because being ambiguous is fun because he is curious, as he said. Also, he really, really needs some coffee. He does not feel he can lose if he goes and gets coffee.
With about fifty ounces of sugar in it. ]

I'll be there as soon as I can.
[And click! It goes off. Next time Naoya will see him, he'll be at one of the cafe's tables with tea for himself. He's completely biased and likes Sanae's coffee better than anything.]

But really, at this point, he can feign it pretty well too, though his smirk is always much more dangerous. But that's just the nature of the beast, isn't it? Seems he found his geta, anyway. The question is this: how does he BALANCE in them? ]
You know, Yoshiya, I don't like angels, and they don't much like me. I don't think we could ever get along much... ironic as it is, the idea of a benevolent angel to me is far too foreign.

Joshua doesn't particularly want to know how he does it. He can't, which is why he dumped them in the couch. He can deal with Naoya's natural height, but the geta just make it miserable.
The Composer tilts his head.]
That is rather ironic. At least to me. [He shrugs.] So. What did you want to talk about?

Three things.
Firstly, I have firsthand information on our situation here; it was... procured by one of 'us,' you might say. Anything otherwise you hear about any God or anything is a ridiculous farce. I'm only telling you this because we're all in the same boat and I'm quite sure that information is the one thing we lack... we have, quite literally, a few pages.
[ A pause. One finger goes down. ]
Second, your phone might be useful here if it's used at the right time and for the right purpose, but I can't tell you just how much. But I think I know someone who could find use for it.
... Thirdly... [ And now his smile really deepens as he gets to the last question... ]You were human once, too. You ascended into that power by taking it, didn't you? But you're limited here. Just like the rest of us. I do wonder WHY that is... you and the barista. But he's something else... divine, right? I'm pretty sure he is. I ( ... )

Joshua listens without interruption, sipping his tea casually.]
How reliable is this source? Just so we're on the same page.
[A curious head tilt.]
And who would benefit from my phone? I know I certainly benefit from it.
[Another casual sip of tea before placing it back on the saucer.]
Isn't that how power is usually passed down? Through taking it? You could be born with the power, but it means nothing if you don't take it and use it. [An amused smile-smirk.] No, I'm neither holy nor base. The potential for one is there, but only in terms of strength. What do you think I am? You had my memories, didn't you?
Reply
[ ... He laughs. ] ... But could you get that phone into somewhere where it'd be of USE is the question.
As for power... sometimes, but not always. Generally speaking, one must get it one's own self... either way, you're rather in between, aren't you? You see, human emotions are... powerful things. They can call forth quite a bit... so the only truly powerful being is one that would have access to such, don't you think?
Humanity does not need emotions or free will. But we have it. That is why it is best for a human to obtain power, don't you think...? A human would put it to far better use, be that for good or ill. But my question is, Yoshiya, what did you put it to use for?
Every action has reason. I wonder... what could be yours?
[ Because well, Joshua, you now ( ... )

[Joshua simply shrugs nonchalantly.] That's the question, isn't it?
Perhaps so. But sometimes people just get lucky. I'm happy to say that I'm not lucky, merely skillful.
What, indeed? Would you like to throw a theory at me?

Yet, from the one who broke INTO the Church and during the fire we've had here, we were able to salvage better technology. I'm almost CERTAIN they're hiding something in there that's controlling the limit on everyone's abilities here.
[ Also, laptops. He wants to steal a laptop from them so bad it's ridiculous. He's been going through, like... lack of technology withdrawal. ]Hahah... it's a matter of calculation. The world is numbers, after all... everything is made up of data. Even the supernatural ( ... )

That would make sense. What's their reason for keeping us here? The limit makes sense, if they want to make sure that we're not strong enough to overthrow them.
If that's how you view life, then sure.
[An amused smirk that almost looks like he's saying, "Wouldn't you like to know?"]
Humanity has no limit with their imagination. It just depends on whether the individual uses it or not. Now, how would you use my power and position, if you know just what it entails?
Now, now. I won't deny ending his life. I also gave it back to him and his friends. But, a heart? Maybe I do, maybe I don't.
[It's just buried deep enough to sometimes make Josh question if he has one. It's just one full of pain and loneliness that somewhere along the way became indifference. Yet, he cares, it just doesn't seem like it. He wants people to understand how valuable life is, to re-evaluate just what's important in life.]
