She had no idea why she wanted to make coloured eggs. She hadn't had the desire to since, well probably since she was a little kid and Chloe was still around. But she wanted too now, for whatever reason

Carter was nothing, if not reliable. It was a trait he inherited from both his parents, so an hour or so after logging off the computer he is standing at Mya's front door, freshly showered and holding a large bag from the grocery store that is full of healthy treats for them to snack on.
As well as being reliable, he is also always well mannered, so instead of barging into her house like some people he knows he knocks politely and waits for someone to answer the door. He doesn't want to make another bad impression on Mya's dad like before.
When she hears the buzzer she almost half jumps out of her skin. She doesn't know why, exactly, so she takes a minute to herself to tell herself to calm down before she half flies down the stair hallway to the front door. Holding both the doors open to let the other in, after all he was holding food.
"Hey! Glad you could make it! Come on upstairs." She nodded up the hallway before shutting and locking the gate just for now. After all, it was the start of spring, as evident by the fact that for the first time in what seemed like months the weather was fantastic. "You could have just come in y'know?"
Carter smiles and pulls off his tuque, his hair is still a bit damp from the shower as his mother would have killed him if he had left the house with wet hair uncovered. "I didn't want to freak your dad out again." He says as he follows Mya into the house.
"It'd only be rude I didn't invite you." She said very matter of fact before pushing in the door at the top of the stairs that led to the actual living area. "Besides, he's like dead asleep so I don't think you have anything to worry about."
"Yeah well I could just about kill him last time. So he knows better then to eavesdrop ever again. But don't worry, I subdued him." She waved her hand as the other mentioned dropping off food taking a moment to peak inside.
"Oh man, look at all that healthy food. My bodies in for a shock but it'll probably love the hell out of that shock. You can put them anywhere in the kitchen. You didn't have to do that you know though, so thanks!"
Laughing, Carter began to un-pack the items from the bag onto the kitchen counter, lining them up for her to see better. A bag of whole wheat pita bread, baby carrots, a container of fresh hummus, and two soy beverages.
"I know I didn't have to," He said, fussing with the treats a little. "But I wanted to, so let's just eat, drink and be merry yeah?"
She nodded with a smile and shrugged. "Very well, like I'm ever gonna tell a handsome man shouldn't do things for me." She moved over to the food and drank in the smell of freshness. Not like her family didn't eat fresh. Her dads were 1 and 3/4 vegetarian. But they were also total sugar addicts and easter was the worst as her Pa's favorite candy in the entire world was Peeps and according to him 'Easter was the only time one should ever have them' and because her other father, while a health freak himself, had a soft spot for candy and an even softer spot for his husband. So peeps had been consumed more or less since the moment they'd popped onto the shelf and she was ready for a snack that didn't involve sugar, at all.
"You wanna watch a movie or somethin' while we eat?"
Normally he would debate her calling him handsome, a sort of intense modesty that he gets from his mother, but instead he just cracks the lid on the hummus. Anxious to dive in himself, he worked up quite an appetite jogging with his father.
"Uh sure, a movie or crappy television is fine with me." He said and neatly arranged their grub on a few plates, motioning for Mya to lead the way to the living room.
She's glad he doesn't argue, because, well you know she's pretty stubborn you know. A trait she gets from her 'mom' or, the more mom like of her two dads.
She moved into the livingroom when he was done prepping everything and plopped onto the floor in front of the television. Popping over the cabinets. "So what do you wanna watch, we've got like, everything. My dads are really big on movies now. I've got new and classics, I'm feeling like bad b-movies though. Oh! I have Mystery Science Theatre!"
"I am always up for B-movies." Carter said with a grin, setting the food down onto the table and then plopping down next to her. "My mother practically raised me on B-movies."
He eyed her collection before pointing at a large box-set, "In fact I think we have that same set at home." He said with a laugh.
"My pa raised me on bad movies. There's a big age gap between my dads so like, b-movies to him were like, the bees knees in his dad. But now we just look back and laugh at them." He plopped down in front of the television looking at the case in her hand as she flipped it over lost in thought for a moment before his voice snapped her out of it.
"Oh yeah, it's a good set to have. I love this series, so it's decided then!" She broke out of her daze and into a smile before setting everything up so they could watch it and moving back to the couch to flop down.

"Where should I put the grub?" He then asked, hoisting the grocery bag up a little to present her with all their goodies.
