So I had a pretty good weekend. I met two really cool girls in the lobby of a hospital. They were pleasant, welcoming and smart. What an awesome combination. Meeting them served a purpose, which was to rekindle some kind of hope. My friends are exceptional people, but it’s still nice to meet new people every now and then.
Speaking of cool people, what makes a person cool anyway? When I say, “he/she’s cool” the translation is, “he/she’s nice, funny and smart.”
However, the majority seems to define a cool person as someone popular and attractive with stylish clothing and shoes.
I still don't get it. I probably never will.
I enjoy having diversity among my friends, and I guess that's why I find it so hard to believe that there are people out there who hang out only with people who fall under the superficial kind of cool, if that makes sense.
What's worse is that I see this behavior even in our elders. Why not give everyone a fair chance?
