(no subject)
So generally this comic con is kinda insane, like there's always a bunch of people and with the guys being the headliners I thought that it was going to mega packed. But everything was actually super chill, and I actually got to spend a ton of time with them for the autograph, pictures, and other times
Photo day 1
I got the group photo with William, Graham, Peter, and Dean. When I walked up William was the first to greet me, and we ended up shaking hands, Graham asked me my name, and then Peter was like "kaitlyn? wow you are incredibably happy!" and the other guys were apparently in agreement to wich I said "sorry...?" and they just laughed at me. Dean kinda of like poped out of no where and was like "Kaitlyn? With a 'C'!? We've met before right!?" and I said "Uh. It's with a K, but we can pretend?" he was so excited that I then felt kind of terrible when I had to say that we had actually never met. He was like "well shit, I really fucked that one up didn't I". Then the picture was taken and I didn't get to respond. Whoops. They positioned me kind of awkwardly in front of the guys, so there were no hugs or anything just me leaning against Graham's chest (not complaining though).
Then (later) as I was waiting for the pictures to develop I heard a gruff voice say "move please" and see that, not security but their handlers, are walking by so I take a step back. Then as I take a step back I walk directly into Dean. Not figuratively either, like we legit collided I kind of fall over and he goes "Kaitlyn with a K! Sorry!" and like scurries up to Graham.
Autograph day 1
Nothing too exciting happened with the autograph, except that Dean really struggled with the spelling with my name (which was adorable). I was talking to William and mentioned to him that Bifur was my favourite dwarf and he got like super excited and was talking about the character and how he loves when people tell him this. At one point I thought he was done talking so I was like "well thank you, have a great day" and he cut me off and kept talking, which was super sweet of him.
Panel day 1
I've never been to a panel before but I feel like it was kind of standard procedure. There was a moderator and he was like "I'm going to ask a few questions and then we'll open it up to the audience, he got to ask like maybe one question and then the guys were like "THE AUDIENCE, ASK THE AUDIENCE" and it felt like all panel they kept trying to create a riot, and like really rile up the audience (which was amazing). When the head guy said that time was up the (dwarf) guys were like "if you yell and scream they won't make us leave" "LET THEM ASK MORE QUESTIONS"
(side note: I have what my friends like to call "a creeper camera" and so even though we were sitting maybe like ten rows back they're super close)
Photo day 2
Today I just got a photo with Dean, and nothing too special happened, however he was like "oh, just me in the photo eh? Well better make it special" and then he like pulled me in close and like death gripped my shoulder. And I died (I might still be dead tbh)
Now here is a wall of text that if you read I promise it's great, if not, I understand. Just understand the premise of this is in which I ask Dean to take a selfie with me, he says he can't and then we do.
So I'm doing a kind of selfie contest with some friends and basically what this means is that whoever can get the best selfie with someone wins (bragging rights and Starbucks). Well anyone who knows me knows that I love to win so this was a big deal with me. So on Sunday I noticed that there was like no line up for the guys and it was kind if dead. So I went up to dean and his handler and said "hey, I know this is a crazy long shot but I'm doing a selfie contest with my friend, whoever takes the best one wins, and because it's kind of dead I was wondering if you could take one with me" and dean shakes his head and says that he's sorry, but no. His handler said the same thing. To witch I said "oh, that's totally cool, I just thought I would try. But thanks guys! Have a good rest of the day" then I walked away. And that was good enough for me because at least I got to talk to him again.
Later I was hanging out with some friends and they were going through the autograph line, I had got my picture/autograph the day before so I was just there for moral support. Now I was talking to my friend SJ and she goes "he's talking to you....he's talking to you!" And I turn around and sure enough dean -(and his handler) were like "hey! We were looking for you, we could do the selfie, we tried to chase you down but--" so I said "really!? Wait, is that offer still on the table? Like if I come back later, and there's no one around, can we take one on the down low?" And he goes "sure sure".
Cut to even later and after I went out to lunch I came back to his table. There's no one there and he smiles at me and says hi, and I said "can we still do that picture?" And his handler goes "that's selfie girl" and he goes "yeah yeah of course". "It's Kaitlyn right?" and I was say "you rembered? That's so cool" and then he just kind of laughs at me. So I asked him how we should do this and he goes "here, just come to this side" and I guess I was moving a little slow and he goes "oh come here" and I told him that I was didn't want security to yell at me and he goes "oh they won't, you're here" . So we take the selfie and then I thanked him, and he was says "it's no problem" and I thanked him again and said "with this (selfie) I better win" and he laughs and says "yeah, you better" and then that's it and we're done and I'm pretty sure I float home
