Psychology.
I feel like I've been taking more steps towards solidifying how serious I am with my potential career in Psychology.
I joined the Psychology Club at Fitchburg State, it's pretty neat. Next year they're doing participating in the Suicide Prevention Walk, I'm looking forward to doing that.
I have a meeting with the head of the Recreation Services department at a nursing home to set up my internship to hopefully be completed over the summer; I should be doing something with Art Therapy. I'd be working with the lower functioning patients at the nursing home. It not only will fulfill my internship/capstone requirement, it will be really rewarding.
I've picked up applications to behavioral clinics and schools for children with mental health deficits of different sorts. I have handed in one application thus far for a summer position, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I have excellent references on that application (well, all my applications) so I'm hoping that will look extra good. This job would help launch me into the field...it would be "hands on" experience. Not to mention the training I would receive as well.
Off the topic of Psychology, DJ and I were in the River Rat Race yesterday! I really enjoyed it. I have pictures I can post on here at a later date when I'm not feeling as lazy.
