Dearest Journal,
Arrgggggggggg!! Parents just don't know how to be cool! The other day I was begging mom to let me have a phone in my room and she was like "well maybe if you make at least two A's this semester." But man, that means I have to wait till like May! (Basically a thousand years from now). I was soooo frusterated. I told her how Becky and Ashleigh have their own phones but she was like "well they aren't my daughters, you are". So I said to her, "I bet you wish they were your daughters instead of me!! You think they're perfect!" So then I went to my room and slammed the door. Well that's when all heck broke out. My dad totally got on my case. He was like "no slamming doors in this house YOUNG LADY". I said to him "look OLD MAN it's my room and my door so I'll slam it all I want to!" As I said those words, I knew I'd regret it. He totally grounded me for like 3 weeks. That I could understand, but he didn't stop there. He said he doesn't want me listing to rock n' roll music anymore, nor does he want me to hang out with "those rock n' roll hoodlums". I told him he had no right to tell me who I could be friends with. But he insisted that I only associate with "good people". I mean I actually kinda understand him and mom being worried. Some of the guys (you know who you are) do drink a lot of sodas and sometimes stay out past midnight. But just because they do it doesn't mean I'm going to.
So, after sitting around my room for two days drawing high heel shoe designs, mom said I could go out and see Becky or something. So I went to her house and we watched Titanic. Oh my gosh; I cried so much! Thank goodness Leo DiCaprio was just acting and not really dead! Anyway, it's such a great movie...I just wish they had left out Kate Winslet's nude scene and the part where "Jack" and "Rose" have premarital sexual intercourse. In real life they would've been so in love they would have waited until they got married.
